AH-60L DAP Blackhawk

Sorry, was missing the dashboard picture in the earlier post.

Norm: I do love this chopper. My eye was always drawn to it but I can't explain why. It's similar to how I look at Japanese and Russian WWII aircraft, especiall Japanese. Something about the lines of those planes just look good to my eye.

Back to work now. :)

Thanks for the kind words!

Update Numero Dos

FYI - I'm taking lots of cockpit pictures now because I fear I won't be able to photograph it once it is sealed up in the body.

Cockpit Instrumentation has been installed now. I didn't get a photo of it, but you have to chop off the back panels of the center console to get it to fit properly. I have a feeling Eduard knew this because they are just black blank panels with no dial or anything.

On the pilot's collective too.

And the ceiling consoles

Belts are on the gunners seats now

If you are using PE, this stuff is a must. It's just regular CA glue, but comes with a brush. Works fantastic, and it's 2.99 US

Now beginning the work on the PE and straps for the supplemental fuel bladder. To give you some reference on a time scale..., bending and assembling all this PE took about 45 minutes, and I am experienced. So make sure you give yourself plenty of time and have patence when doing this.

Bladder is glued in, and now drying before I "tie" everything down.

Back to the bench.

What PE set is this ? It comes with a/c Cargo straps?? I've ben looking for that for ions!

It's the MH-60 Pavehawk Interior set. One of my very first posts has a video where I explained all the PE set variations. I think I spoke about it in there. This interior also has the much nicer dash and console pieces (color zoom PE that is)

WOW. this looks amazing. Such clean gluing with the CA 8).

Looks excellent, i gotta get me some of that crazy glue in Australia. :-\

Well done!

It's been a long day, but very rewarding. One of those modeling days where the mistakes (and frustrations that follows) has been very minimal. Very productive

I got the fuel bladder installed and was able to literally tie it down in the same manner you would in real life (minus the ratcheting). I fed the straps (made from tape) through the tie downs, folded them over and glued them back on themselves. I have one strap to install yet. I left it off because I plan to put my thumb there when I glue the ceiling on.

Time to do some washing. ProModellers (or Flory Modellers as I think it's called now) wash is the best for getting things nice and proper dirty. I followed later with pin washes of a "sand" color.

Seats are finished too

Cockpit got a "sand" wash as well.

All clean now. All three types of cotton buds are very useful. BigLots here in the states is the best place for those. Super cheap. The pointed ones are Tamiya and are kind of expensive but soooooo useful. A toothpick and tissue works just as well for those tiny cracks.

Tomorrow before I go to the Devo show..., I'll have this baby sealed up.

Goodnight friendly modelling folks.

Way to go with this!!!! That is looking awesome! Stunning work on that bladder! ;)

I still have not started at all .. still waiting for PE Set From UK (model Hobbies).10 day for nothing.. LOL

The more I see of this, the more amazed I am.
Excellent work on the strapping. Looks almost real

Simply brilliant.

True story, just a few minutes ago, I grabbed some of my favorite ice cream from the freezer and went through this thread like a hawk. Let me say I loved reading every bit of it. The pictures? Well, they made me forget I was eating ice cream!

Not enough superlatives created to describe your work, so I'll have just have to write a book describing it some other time. ;)

About that crazy glue, I'm stunned that you got everything glued down so clean! I know brush on is great, but do you think there's a huge difference between the tube gel version of Krazy glue? That gel stuff was the one I used 7 years back when I was 9, and it was terrible to work with! Now a day's I just variations of Loctite. I wouldn't mind trying Krazy glue one more time; Any problems when working with it?

MYKE,

WOW Dude !! Immaculate !! The Cockpit is OFF-TH-CHAIN !! Those Seats ... Everything !! Beautiful Work !!

That P.E. is Sick !! \m/_\m/ Awesome Job !!!

Hey ...How was DEVO ?

SMM: Thank you sir - easiest part of the kit so far. ;)

Fruit: First off, I love that name. Where did that come from? Secondly, you have to stop using big words like "superlatives," ya got me all confused! Third, just how much ice cream did you eat? haha
I've never used the tube version of Krazy Glue, so I couldn't comment on it, but the brush stuff is the equivalent of a medium thickness of your standard CA glue. I've had 0 problems working with it so far. I picked it up after using "Mr. Just" brush on super glue for a while. I figured there had to be something cheaper out there for like 2.99$ US. I'm sure there are tons of brand names for regular ole CA glue. Even fake nail glue is just CA.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the compliments Fruit :)

PA007: Dooooood! DEVO was so amazing. I saw them back in August when they were in town. They like Columbus since they are from just up the road so they've been here 3x in the last 18 months or so. It's amazing how good they are for their age.

Not my video but at the show.

MVI_0790.AVI

The last show I saw at this venue was Anthrax/Megadeth/Slayer and I'm not sure which was better.
