I have a similar bird in my stash !!! and what a monster ! there is BIG and there is BIG !!!

I have no room to display it with the Rotors !!! and would look ODD without !

I wish there was a way to Fold them !!! like a Naval variant !!! but no !

Keep going cuz I will learn from this build for sure

The Blackhawks have the ability to stow the rotors to the rear. The Army may not do it all the time but they do it for transport by C5/C17 not sure of what exactly they bolts they take out but it done.

Yea, that makes sense. I guess they were not flying those things across the planet. I'm going to have to look for some photos of them being transported. That brings some new ideas to the plate.

Woa - pretty cool man.
Cheers for those photos!!

That would be a cool dio. A 1/35 scale dio of that Blackhawk coming out of the mouth of a C-5 or C-17. scratch bulid just the nose of the C-5 or something like that.... hmmm, light bulbs going off. Better get to the drawing board.

UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!

With the recent shortage of Tamiya's Primer here in the old US of A, I've had to rearrange my build schedule and just dig in to all the sub assemblies before I can start painting. Last I heard was that the powers that be had some issue with the labeling on Tamiya products, and they should be showing back up in LHS's in the next week or two.

So I've been getting stuck in on the photo etch.

PE added to the back of the Pilot's chairs.

Very cool - love the gun! Been looking around for a 1/35 chopper after watching this...very cool.

A few more photos.

Cockpit Dryfitting

Gunner's chairs all in pieces. Look at those nasty pin ejection holes. I love filling those, it's my favorite!!!

Adding the photo etch to the rack that the Gunner's chairs mount to on the roof.

Completed

Engine completed (still to add some more wiring/hosing/detail)

And I'm not up to adding the photo etch tie downs to the floor. You can see the map that Eduard provides as well. They say it's 1:1 so you can cut it out and line it up but....it's not.

Wait till you see the .50 cal that sits on the doors, it's 90% PE and is going to look amazing. I'll try to get those up soon.

Got a lot done tonight. Let's see....
