Re: Interest in Millennium Falcon Group Build

Alright folks, I am going to ask for some help. I am running out of time to get my parts list done for the lighting tutorial and work is starting to keep me very busy.

I have taken a look at the references found on this page:

http://www.scalemodeladdict.com/forum/index.php/topic,3397.0.html

Near the bottom of the first post are two links to lighting guides. From what I can see of these diagrams are that there are:

4 large floods on the underside and two on the front
15 smaller lights on the bottom and four more on the front.
18 duck your head lights. Can someone take a look and verify?

I want to make sure I am getting the correct number of lights for this model when I do the lighting plan.

Re: Interest in Millennium Falcon Group Build

Thanks, now I can get to to work planning out how many LED's and what size and color. Oh, and I can't forget the fiber optics!!

But first I have to watch the ESB.

Re: Interest in Millennium Falcon Group Build

I saw a site a while back that had hundreds of hi res screen shots of the entire film. Good resource.

Three more questions...
-does anyone know where I can get the wire wrap tool needed fot the madman kit in canada? Radio shack US won't ship here. And i can't find any shops here in toronto.

-it seems like the fibreoptics with that kit may be a bit thin for the red underbelly lights. Could i make little plastic bits as the "bulbs and then use the fibreoptics as the souce, glued to the back of the bulbs? I wanna be ready for lighting come october....

-not sure if i'm making this up but did I see the sidewalls light up at all on the full scale set piece in esb?

I couldn't find wire wrap tools on the radio shack.com site to compare with, but I always order my electronic supplies/tools from either http://digikey.ca (Canadian prices and shipping isn't too terrible), or http://www.goldmine-elec.com/

The electronic gold mine doesn't list any wire wrap tools either. Digikey has a number of different offerings

Re: Interest in Millennium Falcon Group Build

I was looking at my MPC Falcon tonight and I was taken back by the lack of cockpit. Does anyone have suggestions for detailing the cockpit. Thanks

Re: Interest in Millennium Falcon Group Build

anyone have any suggestions for the turbolaser gunwells on the fine molds 1/72? There aren't any aftermarket parts available, are there?

Re: Interest in Millennium Falcon Group Build

Maybe I'm understanding something wrong, but the FM Falcon comes with the gunwells included. Just checked mine - they are in place.

The question was about aftermarket kits for them, actually, Solander.
As to that, IIRC, there aren't any Aftermarket kits for the FM gunwells.
(Not that I think they're really needed)
