Got the forward deck glued down and put the anchors on. The bow anchor was just stuck on the front according to the instructions so added a brass rod and chain to make it look a little better. Still got some touching in to do but I will wait until I'm ready to do all the main deck railings for that. Pantherman

Nice!!
So, the windlass of the bow anchor was in the hull??
Looking a bit more deeper into this I think that the bow point anchor was just a backup which could be connected to the other main anchor chains.

As such, it would be as I have fitted it with a small section of chain but it shouldn't go into the hull through the deck.

I think I may leave it as is because I don't want to make it look more obvious than it is. In time I might change it but not just yet.

Yep, got same info.
On top of that, it appears that they removed the anchors at the end.
"they got rid of the anchors and chains after the Denmark Strait battle in order to loose weight on the bow and help with the trimming of the ship. The piece of chain on Bismarck's fore deck could be just a small lenght of one of the chains"

I have recently been looking at the 1/200 trumpeter Bismarck with the Pontos advanced upgrade kit.

It's almost £700 for both but I figure it will take me a year to build it. Works out around £58 a month which is more than I would normally spend in a year

Think it's going to be worth it though. Pantherman

Agree. The only reason i did not take this set is the size: 1/200 gets difficult to work on, mainly the hull. No space on my workbench

WELL GUYS
ive basicaly got the same peroblem due to hull size with my hornet build but ive said sod it an just got on with it an its comin on so guys just got to be paitent
an just move some of the stuff on the build table to allow the hull to be turned around to work on the other side so try it as im managine

Yes, probably have to glue it onto the hull as it doesn't locate as such. Pantherman
WELL why not stick a couple of pins in the stand an then drill two holes in the hull an so that the hull will lift off the stand like i have done an it will sit on the pins an it wont come off an if you decide that you would like to do a water dio you can best of both worlds there as i might do that with my hornet
