Hello forum! As the title says, I'm working on my first ship the Tamiya Fletcher. This kit was selected because I am deployed and I thought it would be something I could do with minimal supplies. Just getting started with the hull mostly assembled and some paint.

Nice kit, looking forward to seeing your build. Pantherman

Progress continues. I've built some sections but wanted to get the deck done before anything gets glued to it. It's pretty close to done. Not sure about the colors as I'm not using Tamiya but Vallejo "equivalents." Originally the deck was too dark for my liking but this color should be OK.

I was not happy with the hull red so I brightened it. Another coat and it should be good. Hopefully will have the hull finished soon. I also did a little work on the structure, which was challenging with the upper levels of the bridge installed...it looks fine from an arms length.

I think

the Tamia Fletcher kit is a good choice. I hope to build it if I ever get through my Uss Hornet CV-8 kit. I'l be watching you!
