Just cracked this open today and man is it huge. I'll be taking plenty of time with this one. I think the first thing I'm going to need to do is get a bigger workbench area lol.
If I were to build something big enough to have to put in my garage it wouldn't be this Camaro. It would be a 71 hemi Cuda fully rocked out!... just park her in the garage!![]()
Oooh, you'll have to let us know how that works out.ordered this..
Is that a reciprocating blade and wow that price is crazyIt can cut a pencil in half like butter...I think it will be very helpful.
Cutting shapes out of thin wood sux with a regular knife..
We shall see..
That's so funny because I broke a brand new drill bit building the exact same 1/12 scale model CamaroSo, I'm a bit peaved at myself for not recognizing the signs of stress sooner. I was on the fifth and final hole I needed to drill into the master cylinder and metering block when it got tight and I made the fatal mistake of giving it "just a bit more" then......SNAP! The drill bit snapped off in the part...no way to retrieve. OK, I guess I'll be supergluing that connection.
As I apparently didn't learn my lesson, I then had the exact same thing happen on one of the carbs. At least that one broke far enough in that I still ended up with enough depth to get a wire in about half a mm....CA there too I reckon.
Anyhow, I'm working in stages on this build. Doing a lot of image searching to create my own hybrid build. De-chroming some parts to be redone in polished aluminum (primarily the engine components) and chroming some that didn't have plating that I wanted there. Finished with masking on interior and almost done on chassis. Thinking about adding fuel and brake lines to chassis but not sure if I want to to go to all the trouble of grinding out the molded lines or just paint them in (which I suck at). I am going to include them in the engine compartment so I'm significantly tossed up on that.
Anyone with suggestions please feel free to chime in on this
I'll be posting pics later as I progress.
