Really likin this build my friend. The color scheme is quite eye catching.
 
Post and mailbox both look very realistic! Great weathering, especially on the post. How did you scratch that?

Do you mean scratch build or actually scratch?
 
Started on the terrain but I think I need to get some better stuff for ground work.

Had a bucket of this left over from the house build...

Joint compound will always crack when applied in thick layers, even on the wall.

No worries just let it fully cure, which may take a few days, then apply a much thinner layer over the top to fill/cover the cracks.
 
Ah, thanks for the tip.

I was thinking I needed some other type of material for doing this kind of terrain.
 
light weight spackle or water putty is great for that type of terrain, looking great by the way!
 
I agree with Mr. Natural, light weight spackle is great, and good work on the mail box and sign.
 
Filled the cracks, sanded it down and put some paint on it.

This should look like road/curb/grass (at least the beginnings of it).
