Decal day. I'm using the old kit decals with their typical vintage milkyness which needs to be cleaned off before applying to the model, but at least they are not disintegrating or cracking.

How do you do that? I often rummage through bins at my LHS and come home with yellowed decals.
These aren't so much yellowed but the old glue on the back is very milky, chunky and white in nature and needs to be removed (typical of old Monogram kits especially). After soaking the decal, using tweezers I remove it from the paper and place it face down onto a wet finger and then wipe off the glue with a wet paint brush. I then apply Microset to the model and place the decal with the tweezers. Its a pain, but I like to use the old decals when I can.

Do you ever use Tamiya decal adhesive or some such? I'm guessing it's not really necessary with the MicroSet
I have not used that. A good gloss base coat and MicroSet/MicroSol work well enough. I do use Microscale Liquid Decal Film for old brittle decals though. I think there was a big discussion about that a few months ago.
