Jaitea's Falcon Projects

Thanks Scratchy,

Mainly I'd like to display the ship in flight with a power supply running up the stand, I'm hoping to make attachable landing gear similar to the magnetic ones on my FineMolds Falcon

When displayed landed the loading bay lift would normally be closed (Just using the original part)
This is just my curiosity to see what it would look like.

Thanks Q,

Some work on the Loading Ramp & V2:

My concept of what becomes of the highlighted part in this photo.....:

......can be seen at the back of the ramp:

I don't know.....V2 obviously isn't finished, but I think the original looks better.

For the following photos I used the landing gear from the FineMolds kit.....just to see what the Loading ramp would look like with the gear down, also using the 1/72 Han Figure to give some scale:

I have eventually started adding details to the underside:

Thankyou very much guys, I think I'll stick with V1

Good to hear from you Ozzy....any more progress photos?

Another MPC kit arrived this afternoon (I know....another Falcon), so I'll post some comparison photos next post.

John

I bought another MPC Falcon......I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet, I don't think I'm going to build it as 'The Millennium Falcon', it might be another YT variant.....but I've taken some comparison photos:

A comparison with the original kit:

...and an overlaid image:

I've eventually (almost) finished the actuators on the rear deck:

& started the underside actuators:

The plastic coated rod that I get from my nearest Model Shop:

The rod cut to length and some of the plastic removed:

Almost finished detailing the forward landing gear box:

Next project to do is make landing gear.

Thanks again for the support

Yes ModelMakerMike, they're both the MPC kit.....I'm making up a list of kits I've bought that I've used for this kit.

Quaralane, because it's taken me so long to make this, I'd forgotten what the stock kit's details were like !!

Thanks Jurasikfrank, I'm starting to dread the painting....which is not too far away.....landing gear next...cockpit interior.....ramp.......PAINT

The other new MPC I was thinking on modifying it with elements of Ralph McQuarrie's concept art:

Wow, Mcquerrie's Falcon really doesn't have a lot of surface details...
That would be a great build though. I am wanting to start mine, but I have so much other things to do. Like finish my Bat-Scythe and clean/organize my office. However, when I build my Corellian ship, it won't be the Millennium Falcon. ;)

ModelMakerMike, I may modify a Revell kit to make the RMcQ Concept Falcon.....hmmm....dunno.....it's a while off, finish this then the FineMolds one...

I've done a bit more to the underside, no primer yet:

Just to do the other interior of the gear bay:
