This is not my last model finished, but at least one of the latest. The original Halcyon kit of the Narcissus escape ship from Alien, which I modified here and there with styrene sheets, bits of random junk and wires. The nose was not completely rebuild, but I at least sanded it down until the recessed panel lines were completely gone and rebuilt it like the original studio model. I also put some tubes into the holes, where the search lights are, which looks a tad cooler, than the base kit.

What I was not satisfied with, were the sooth stains on the engines. I used the Tamiya Weathering Set on those and it just looks weird, imho.

Very nice work... I like the weathering on the white paint job. I would think that would be very hard to control and to not go overboard with.

I love Alien, I love that model! Personally I think the sooth on the engines is fine, no worries, it looks awesome! It would have been totally overkill to have put some screens behind the glass showing Ripley walking around. That's how they did it in the original movie but the model had to be bigger seeing as they didn't have small screens like today.
Which movie's your favorite?

I think I like Aliens a tad more. But Alien is creepier. They both are really great. And well... the rest is... well..

Those aren't search lights - they're retro rockets. These are what propelled the Narcissus from the refinery when it was only seconds from nuclear meltdown. Still very cool! I wish I had this in studio scale.

I've got this very kit sculling around in one of my boxes upstairs. It's one of the grail kits due for up-scaling to studio scale for me.

This looks excellent, elend. Nice, used look to it. Wish I'd persevered with mine now.
