... decidedly lower tech, but I took my own advice and got this today: a lightweight, collapsible basket with handles that can be carried with one hand while the other hand negotiates door handles and banisters, with a flat bottom to accommodate most models, or parts.
No worries about dropping, damaging or losing bits between the bench and the spray booth if that's in another room, in the basement or in the garage. Oh, and all of CDN $14.

I'm sick and tired of fighting dust in my paint. It is largely to blame on using my garage, and this will have to go in the garage at least to start since it is BIG, but a waterfall spray booth is on the way here.

Man, I am also relegated to the garage. I also have a dust problem. Id be really interested in seeing your results. Do you have a link to this so I can take a look. I always took the ones I have seen in random Youtube videos to be a gimmick. But if its a legit way to stop the dust then I would be really interested.

It does not stop the dust from existing, and to be honest I have a concern that the added/better suction could increase the problem. But the reviews show the airflow is better than the paper-filter versions, so I remain hopeful.

I think the long-term answer is to paint inside. There, not only the dust but the temperature and even humidity can be better controlled or at least more stable. But this thing is big, no, B I G. So getting it inside the man-cave will take some doing.

I went to our local IPMS show last Saturday. I had to work the registration booth for a few hours, no I did not "have to", I volunteered.

I did spend about 30 minutes before the show to help some vendors set up, and used that time to try and find a 1/48 TBD "Devastator" that was not the $100 one from GWH. It seems they are unicorns these days. Some vendors said they had the Monogram one back at their shop, it is a known PITA and the raised panel lines are a big ick. Was hoping to find the AMT/Hobby Boss one, no luck.

Then I worked a few hours doing the judging...IPMS rules...and I am a 100% noob. It was a bit heart breaking to see so many gorgeous kits ruled out instantly because a wheel or strut was wonky, or a horizontal stab was drooping by a degree. That whine/rant belongs somewhere else, so I'll drop it.

So what did I get (back on-topic for this thread)?

Got this gem for $25, after getting home I realized how complex it is, and it has a "full interior" (yikes), but it is a cool subject matter and I've never touched a kit from Dragon before.

I won this guy in the raffle. Did not know my ticket was pulled since I was "working" so it was among the choices left when I did hear last call. But I did not know until reading the box that there was such a thing as a biplane "night fighter" and I've never touched a kit from "eat a L:arry" before too. I think I'll paint the North African theme in honor of our friend @BarleyBop.

Final acquisition was this open-box kit. I got it for $60, and intend to try to make a USAF Thunderbird out of it, will paint most of the markings since the base will be a gloss white, and I want to challenge myself.

Just got back from Andy's Hobbies. Not the main store. He's got another store closer to me that stocks whatever I need and has a decent selection of models. Last week I mentioned these models to the guy working there and voila I looked on the shelf and there's a bunch. So I got one just for ***** and giggles
