Those little dudes? They blow me away that's too cool
This is one of those areas where 3D printing really makes a difference. Up until that became affordable, there's no real way figures with this kind of detail could have been produced in that scale, but now, it's simple and relatively cheap to do.

My immediate question is: Did they use the mid-production version there, or an early one?

I've built the Bronco counterpart, I wonder if this one is better or worse :)

That question is above my pay grade
Wikimedia Commons has this photo:

Landwasserschlepper_in_North_Africa_1942.jpg

"Photo of a German "Landwasserschlepper" (LWS, amphibious tractor) in North Africa."

But I can't tell if this is an early or mid version. I suspect it's the same version as in your kit, though.

There's a good thread about them on the Feldgrau Forum, BTW, including some photos in Africa.

My model remains to be finished, largely because I don't feel like making the rope bumpers — maybe I should just get on with that someday soon :)

It's supposed to be this one, decals for which are in the Bronco kit:

That photo was taken 10 km from where I live, which is of course why I wanted to build it with these markings :)

Like I said: those rope bumpers. Somebody sells them as hand-woven ones, but I don't feel like going to that expense, especially as they'll have to come across the Atlantic Ocean to reach me. But I also haven't felt like trying to sculpt them or otherwise make them from various materials I've considered and/or that were suggested to me.

Can one of us get them for you and send it as a letter? What severity of crime would that be? Not to the sender, thinking of the receiving end.

I don't think it would make much of a difference, as the man behind the company that makes them pretty much straight-up told me he wouldn't send it as commercial package, which should avoid import duties, VAT etc. The thing is simply that $60 Canadian plus shipping (to be fair, he said that would be $5) is more than I feel like spending on this :)

Oooh, I was recently considering adding my Airfix Devastator to the "Maybe I'll build you next" stack. I've been studying the Squadron In Action book.
