shadows are wack and the chain barrier is shadowless and tall enough to walk under .
poor render . D-
I see chain shadows, they are there. If this is in the maint section of the ramp in a secured area, this would not be unusual. Remember, there were quite a few SR-71's, real and bogus, lining the ramps at the Palmdale Skunk Works plant for years. Great for messing with Ivan's satellite count during the cold war.

That A-7 looks like it not only needs a bath, but the paint booth is on the schedule, and as for that Hornet, ya, I can only imagine they get a good work over returning from sea duty. Our AF birds would never have looked like that, the Sqdrn Cmdr would flip a lid, lol. But then again, we always got the BX, Commissary, great housing, theatre, bowling alley, and even a pool on base before we ordered our aircraft!😜

Are my panel lines too heavy?

AF all the way.

Soldiers sleep in the dirt
Marines in a hole half full of water
Sailors get hot meals, but also hot-bunks

Only one branch gets a real bed, all to themselves.

(if you noticed I left the CG out, but that is almost universal)

No rust here, just dirt, grime, uneven patch paint jobs, water/ice. Although notice the fancy CAGs one behind it

I have tried a lot of ways to achieve this look of general grime

Also, to add, apparently, if I have the right info, the old Gull Grey over white scheme was a gloss finish, while the new low vis Ghost Grey schemes anti corrosion are matte finishes. This would greatly change the way dirt stick or not sticks to things

In other words, the old classic gull grey gloss would have less dirt build up and be easier to clean off compared to the matte finish

From what I've heard, Naval Pilots and deck-crew...much of the grime comes from hands and feet, the CV decks are covered with grease, oil and general grime, and it transfers to the aircraft over time.

"Sweepers, sweepers man your brooms."
If you have ever heard that come over the speakers you'll know how dirty it gets on warships.
I once spent 2 weeks on the USS Nassau and wondered why they had to spend so much time cleaning the ship every day. At the end of the two weeks I was amazed at how fast the ship got dirty. We were at sea. I still don't understand how the ship would get so dirty.
It's no wonder the aircraft get so dirty.
