I'm one of those MA guys involved in the Sci-Fi Showdown and my project is the TOMAHAWK MBR-04-MK VI from the MACCROSS saga. A cool looking mech with lots of guns. I started work with the main guns. Here's some progress pictures.

I thought those things were way smaller!
Pretty big guns!

Most of them are, but this one is 1/72 scale.

Did a lot of these mech models when I was younger, but never did this one. Now my chance!

Watching this closely and would like to find one of these kits

Nice work on those cannons thus far.
And I'll apologize in advance if I slip up and call this a Warhammer at any point

Not only tricky seams, but some missing detail as well.

Thanks.

I got lucky and got one cheap. Most are pretty costly.

Re: TOMAHAWK MBR-04-MK VI UPDATE #1

Here's a little update. The arms are done except for some details I want to add. I am test fitting them to the upper torso.

Really nice. I like the size of this kit. Will look very impressive when finished.

I know nothing about mechs, but this looks to have a more 'retro' feel to it.
