The adversaries face off....

Cool!!! Big G is kicking!!! just like the old times... think some head needs some dental floss ;D

Merseajohn, TRM, and Eastrock: Thank you, and dental floss at this scale would be the cables that they use on suspension bridges......

Shutterace: Yes it is huge, the base for the dio is 32 inches by 22 inches........That video will be up soon, still in the camera, but I am almost out of footage that is on the computer...

Norm: Glad you like it!!

To be honest with all of you, I didn't do the best job I could with the seams on King Gidrah. I am running out of time, and had to make a choice yesterday. Fix all the bad seams, or do the Diorama. I don't think I have time for both. If the contest was one week longer, I could acomplish it all. I just figured out how to do the seams a bit late. Over all it isn't bad, just a couple of bad spots. Mainly the first few I did.

John,

when taking the five required photos for the voting (I think it's five) just put some thought into the camera placement and plan ahead, choose angles that will help hide any seams that you aren't happy with and at the same time emphasize the things you want to show.

Just some food for thought, when voting we wont be able to turn the piece around and view every angle. ;)

My thoughts exactly !!! Although many here are privy to your WIPs and Videos.... John...
We can only pass judgment on WHAT can be seen !!!

Thanks for pointing that out KEN... great Advice !!!

Well, I took about an hour and fixed the worst of the seams. I just gave her a primer coat, and there are a few little spots that I will have to touch up, but for the most part, not many of the seams are showing. YEAH!!

Ken and Norm: I thought about just doing creative photography, but I wanted to be honest. If I win it is because of my effort, and skill, not camera tricks. One other thing, with five photos and the size of this dio, I won't be able to get detailed photos, just not possible. Too much area to cover!

Military, I have spent about 5 hours on the dio so far this week. Slow going, but it always is at the beginning. I am about half way through with the ground work. Video up soon, this weekend at the latest. It is still in the camera.

Thanks SLW45 and Quaralane!

I can't believe I never looked this thread up before! I keep posting on youtube! ;D

This is shaping up to be one awesomely cool diorama!

Is Mothra still on, or is she busy undergoing her metamorphosis?

Thanks Ace!

Igard: Yes Mothra is in the dio, I got her finished up a few weeks back. That will be in the next video!

Everything is looking awesome!!! I have learned a lot on new techniques from watching your videos. 8) 8) 8) Thanks for making the videos!!! Looking forward to the next one.

Thank you Tanker!! The next video will be up soon.

Tonight I spent 3 hours with celluclay. This is for the ground work on the dio. It is now sitting in the garage, with the hope that tomorrow will be VERY hot outside. This will speed the drying time of the celluclay. That stuff takes two days to dry......

I just thought I would take a break from the base on the polar bear to give you a teaser of the base for the Monster face off

The first one is an overview of the entire base, and the second one is where I am putting in the waterfall

In the second photo, you can see where catzilla stopped by........

The dio seems off to a great start. Glad to see your progress on these difficult kits. This is going to rock. Awesome!!!!!
