Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

that did take alot of balls to just pour it right in. but of course you knew what your were doin so there wasnt much stress on a botched pour up and stuff

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Awsome work, Q. I'm eagerly anticipating how this one turns out.

And thanks for the advice on the pilots' nameplate font... I followed your suggestion and the font looks spot on. Cheers.

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Thanks, guys.
And I admit that I was worried about doing the straight in pour. REALLY glad it turned out as well as it did

@Splashcoat,
Glad I could help

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Construction of the engine modules is complete, save for paint.

Rough dry fit of the major assemblies to see how well it all fits together.

Filling begins as I use Aves Apoxie Sculpt to fill in the upper rear section of the engine cowling

Just playing catch up here Q....WOW...looking pretty darn nice! Love the engine details!!! Keep it rolling!! ;)

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Well, thanks, TRM
Tomorrow, I will have the lower wing seams to fill. Should be relatively easy, if I'm careful

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Nice work as always, Q! Seems like I already smell some paint for this babes :)

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Great stuff again, Q. You're making me want to watch the series again. Of course, I always start with the classic series first. :)

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Thanks, guys.

@Solander,
Going to be at least another night. I have the seams on the bottom of the fuselage/wings to fill yet

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Hi Q , sorry I've been a bit absent lately ,just catching up on stuff ::) Some nice work there ! Looking forward to seeing paint on :)

Chris.

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Great use of Aves, It will be much easier to drill out those thrusters with the Aves in place.

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Actually, Grendels, the only thrusters I actually need to drill would be the ones that Moebius neglected to put in. The rest are all indented into the surface, unlike with the Mk2 kit.

Now, as to paint. It will likely get started this weekend.

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Small update today.
Got started on the seams on the bottom of the fuselages.
I've also decided to fill in the slot for the kit stand and go with a base option that will let me put both ships on the same base.

I'm also rather disappointed now, with the kit-supplied canopies.
Whoever engineered them clearly wasn't looking at the kit fuselage. Going to take some trimming to make it them right.

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Those nuisance canopies seem to ruin an otherwise great kit. How difficult is it to trim those? Do you use a hobby knife or do you sand them down?

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Going to use a combination of my sprue cutters and sanding, Igard.
That way, I can get what I need removed relatively quickly.

Re: Solaria Flight-Twin Moebius Mk 7 Vipers

Wow that canopy issue sucks. but I'm sure you'll get that squared away fast.
