At St "Chicken Walker"

The bolts around the weapon mount look especially great. Are you using proper scale bolts or just hex styrene rod sliced up?

I used 3/64" styrene rod. Cut very small...lol...I eyeballed them, then sanded them down

Well....yes, another update:

I added a few more details around the "chin" armor and lower plate. Also added the railing. I was debating even adding one but I really dig the look of it now that it's on. Spent some time sanding her down with 320...600- 1000 grit. Once the primer is on and the "gremlins" make themselves known, I'll probably have to hit these seams again then rinse and repeat the sanding upto a 2000 grit wet sand.....

Also....

The Ozzman was right. This is a little dog of a kit. I've spent more time on the cab than I thought I would and.....Now I have to begin to "fix" the lower portion. Still needs the hoses..wire...more "greeblies" and....These legs need some serious attention...............................

Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks for looking at my little "chicken!"

Lmao...No but after stressing that cab...Who knows.

I am either going to use the Aves or cut styrene to fit so I can add some details to the legs. I keep going from this build to my Cylon raider and then back to my older Cylon Raider...I really should just focus on finishing this and then move on to the others....LOL

Meh ,, ::) Whatever works - you have pics up of the Cylon ships ?

The second to last is almost complete. Just need to add a wash to it and paint the base...The last one may end up in a stripping wash..Don't like the way the paint job turned out and the first one...is awaiting some lights and a base.

I have twp Vipers that I want to rig up in a "Dog fight" scene. The two "newer" cylon ships escorting the older one and being "jumped" by the Vipers.

Ambitious....But I'll get around to them sometime before the year is up.

Just catching up with this build.

I've got a newer version in my stash so i'm paying close attention to the wicked upgrades you've added

Looking very nice so far my friend, keep it up

**Update**

Started work on the legs. The kit left a lot to be desired when it came to the legs. Large empty space!!

Filled the space with some styrene strips. Thought about using some Aves but the strips worked out just fine..

Thanks for looking and..........Have a safe 4th!

She's ready for some "Surfacer."

Almost got lost in adding too many extras. I think this should do though. I had more "hoses" and cables under the cab but in the end, it looked a tad bit too busy so I decided to just stay with the two running from the "Chin Guns."

Happy Fourth!!!

;D Nice !
You ready for paint ?

Almost....I was just about to put a coat of "Mr. Surfacer" on it and thought about the hoses again. ( Meh!!! )
I'm going to add two small ones at the rear, bottom of the cab. I had initially intended to add some coming from the bottom of the cab to the leg portion but after a dry mock-up, I realized that not only was it too "busy," but it wasn't practical either. The cab would not be able to articulate with the hoses snagging on the center pivot and they would eventually pull themselves out. And....If I'm going through all the trouble of trying to get this to look half way decent...out of place hoses wouldn't do. LOL

She should be primed over the weekend and I'll be able to see any trouble spots that need sanding attention. There is a few spots I can see now but I think the clear epoxy I used should cover those up once painted

More work done on the bottom half......

There was a spot between the legs that was missing a rather large piece of detail so I decided to try to rectify this by adding "something" there so it would not be such an obvious lack of attention by MPC........

I realize it's not perfect but hell.....anything was better than that nasty gap that was there before

Also added some of the "cables" I redid last night....

I attempted to "make" some sort of "flange" so it would give the impression that there was a "connection port" to these...

And here she is in profile....Almost ready for primer...

;D
good job filling in that center gap . That is curious - definitely looks like something is supposed to go there .
Wonder if something got left out in production ?
Looks factory now . ;)
