Pink is so yesterday. Red is today !!

Another little update, guys.I finished the left side with the throttle. I probably paint it up a little.
This is the part I dislike the most, putting the two halves together. I'm always afraid that it will turn out wonky. This one seems to be OK. I have never built anything from World War I, and if this one goes well, I may try a diorama of an interesting scene.

Fair warning to us who need magnifying glasses...
I put PE parts on my cutting glass next to the tip of a cotton bud for scale.
This is one of a very few I have had to bend and attach. I saw no real need for this part as it would not impede the asthetics of the cockpit so I left it out.

Now that's just scary small. Pantherman

I got some done (up until late or early 5:00 am :D )
I started with Vallejo Light Gray, 71.298, as my primer and also to simulate the canvas.
I tried a different brand of paint for the red,
I went to a local hobby shop which is owned and operated by an Army Vet. I love supporting small businesses and especially armed service vets.
His does not carry Vallejo products. I chose a Citadel brand and Inktensity.
I used the Inktensity for the red.
It covers really well and also seems to have a type of "plastic" coating as well. This brand will not chip or come off masking with tape.
For the masking of the cockpit, I used Silly Putty.
Fir the white areas I think I'll use Vallejo White Grey 71.119. I do not want it stark white. I want it to look as natural as possible.

Anyway this is where I'm at...
