Well I may have slightly, possibly, maybe underestimated just how big this kit is...........

Also got a bonus kit which was a nice little surprise.

Still waiting for the Pontos kit to arrive so I might have time to build an extension on the house.......

Thinking this is probably a year's worth of work 🤔, so lot's of fun times to come 😀. Pantherman

YES P/M you will have fun building this monster an does your kit have parts all in different boxes just to build one part as on my hornet im getting fed up hunting up the parts so on the boxs ive written on them the sprues number an letters which makes it a lot easyier but still gets on me

I have still to sort through everything but I have been putting most of the sprue in the bigger boxes so now everything is in only 2 boxes. I can sort them when I get started. PM

I love big kits and this is a classic! Will be intereating to see how you complete this build!

AN P/M are you goin to light up this ship ? or just leave her in the battle condition but you could light her up in battle red lights as im thinking of this battle red in my bridge S/S ON MY HORNET

... so from what you've seen, is the kit a more detailed scaled up version, or is it organized differently in parts and build?
I can see that what you learned with PE will play forward!
It's a different build configuration but essentially the parts are the same, much more detailed and more part's for the same sections of the ship.

The guns are very basic on the smaller kit compared to the bigger one. Then the Pontos kit is just mega part's nuts but the details are great.

Also I have different ideas of how the build will go compared to the instructions so I can get the paintwork a bit more accurate. Pantherman

SO while waiting for the Pontos set to arrive I have started cleaning up the hull.

Every internal reinforcing bar has created a very slight dip to the exterior which will need sanding out so it doesn't show on the paintwork.

Also noticed several mould pin marks which will also need sanding out.

Better order some new sanding sticks as on this scale, there's an awful lot to do before I even start the kit. Pantherman

This is a special post for Boatman. Make sure you take a tablet before viewing the photos, you have been warned........hehe.

This PE sheet is just for the rigging, how I'm going to thread wire through all those holes is just nuts. Pantherman View attachment 181417View attachment 181418View attachment 181419View attachment 181420View attachment 181421View attachment 181422View attachment 181423
Holy cow! No wonder ships take so much longer to build. That would be overwhelming to me.

Good luck with all that. Too much for me. I would imagine the PE on this scale should be easier than the 1/350 even though you have a ton of it. And as cool as a 1/200 battleship is, I have absolutely no where in my little house to put it.
I have the same issue with space but thought what the heck, just build it. Working with 1/200 is easier on the eye but you have nowhere to hide, 1/350 gives you a bit of poetic licence or as we modelers say, fill it up as no-one will ever notice.....🤭. Pantherman
