Working on the turret. I can't drink coffee but seeing I didn't have any sleep I had a cup this morning. I know better than this.I couldn't sleep last night, up until 3 am so I started this kit. Typical Tamiya.

So now my shaky hands are trying to deal with these! As my dad used to say "You did it to yourself!"

In fact, if you can arrange things so that both hands are stabilized, or one hand and the opposite forearm, or even both forearms, that is the technique I used for decades when working under a microscope. Even if one's hands don't shake visibly, putting the operation under magnification makes even your pulse visible in movement of your fingers. You can stabilise one hand with the other, especially if you rest the second hand on your work surface or some other solid object.
Somewhere I saw that Poland painted the t55 black for the police application but have not been able to find that info again. Now it's in my head to leave this black. Need to paint tracks and add some highlighting.I couldn't sleep last night, up until 3 am so I started this kit. Typical Tamiya.

Wow - thanks! There is a black T-55 AM Merida in a swedish museum that supposedly originated from Polands Szczecin, which is a military garrison city.
The AM model had an additional passive armor system, laser warning system, and smoke launchers.
Here is the pic of it from the museum

No problem happy to help!Wow - thanks!
I ordered some smoke launchers today so that will delay it a bit but I'm excited to be able to have a "legitimate" black tank!No problem happy to help!
Finally got the smoke grenade launchers. Had to make brackets for them, removed a storage container, made a tarp to match the photo, sand and touch up turret, paint dust cover added some green to the storage boxes- pic looked like they were greenish to me anyway. And hit the tracks.Somewhere I saw that Poland painted the t55 black for the police application but have not been able to find that info again. Now it's in my head to leave this black.
