Tamiya Long Range Desert Group/30cwt Chevrolet Truck

I always liked what people do with this kit. So I will be looking forward to see yours 

Moving pretty quickly with this one. I'm at the point where I need to decide what stays off for the priming stage.

I don't know what I like better, your photography skills or your model!
Hopefully the model!

That seems like a good direction Spud!

Got the small stuff primed with Alclad's gray lacquer.

Got a bit of color on these tonight. Also realized I didn't even have the main color, Tamiya's "Desert Yellow", in my stash so placed an order for that (and of course a few others) this evening.

I'm heading to Austin, TX for a few days for the SXSW festival so the next update will probably be Saturday.

Ian you should paint that box with raw umber oil and wipe it off and you will get something like my famo trailer ;)

Just looked at your thread - the wood looks great! So it's just an oil wash?

paint on the oil right from the tube and just rub it off with cotton swabs or tissue, the base coat i used was an old wood color by panzer aces but a tan color would be about the same color.

Back at it! Did some weathering with my new oils today and like the results.

Combo of oils, washes and pigment.

For the tire I took the dremel tool to it for scuffs and abrasion.

Looking good Ian, the leather seat came out nice. Which oils did you end up getting?

looks good Ian. but i wouldn't have touched the wheels like that, as they are too nice of a wheel to do that too :D

I do like my wear and tear. Might have gone a little hard on that first one.

I picked up the 6 piece MIG Vehicle Weathering Set, and 3 of AK's new oil range.
