Finally got some primer on !
That is extreme alright! How well behaved are they in the airbrush?AK International's Xtreme Metal paints
I almost extensively use their products and love them!Yesterday I applied the black base for the NMF. I am using AK International's Xtreme Metal paints. I have used these for exhausts but never for the entire plane.View attachment 181081
I like the red and yellow!it seems I haven't kept this up to date.

Adding the bits and pieces and then some weathering.
I masked the area off and then airbrushed Tamiya acrylic aluminum. That's looking great. How'd you get that colour variation on mid-wing panels?
History has shown that the "C" model Mustang was slightly faster than the much loved "D" model. Visibility was much more important at the time. That's a great choice of scheme!
Personally I much prefer the Razorback P-47 and P-51. There;s something really sports coupe-esque about their lines that just says 'fast'.
From my sources yes these are some of the color schemes that were used by the Tuskegee Airmen. Of note is the fact that they were only in P-47's for about 3 months.Great work Wig! Are those the Tuskegee colors?
Crazy how fast units went through airframes back then. From my sources yes these are some of the color schemes that were used by the Tuskegee Airmen. Of note is the fact that they were only in P-47's for about 3 months.
Some units stayed with the Jug through the entire war (56th FG famously), others skipped them entirely. I thought the 332nd skipped them too, they flew P40s when the P47s were in-service.Crazy how fast units went through airframes back then.
I like the colors! It's a good job. I've not seen panel lines done like that- you don't end up with staining outside the lines? Here's more of the panel line washing. It's about 50% done.
I may have to do a Tuskegee version one dayI give the wash about an hour to dry then start removing it with Q-tips, so no you don't usually get the wash anywhere but in the engraved lines. Course you had to have given the aircraft a clear coat prior to applying the wash.
Beautiful BuildI have the same kit in the stash, I did the bubbletop last year with Zotz decals as Rozzie Geth II, and Eduard gauges wiring on the engine and seat belts. Goes together extremely well. It was my first time painting invasion stripes, like 90 minutes to mask and seconds to paint. I'm not much into modeling aircraft, but I do have the same kit you're building as well as the Eduard P-51K profi pak which is a thick box.
