Solander's "Hammerhead"-class variant

Thank you very much for the kind words, guys!
That really hepes to keep this proj going.
Which is frankly started to become extremely difficult.
Can't say I've lost my mojo here, but this is one of the projects, which.. well, you know, when nothing goes the way it should.
Won't bother you, guys, with complains, enough to say that I had a bad initial choice of materials, so nothing wonts to attach to each other no matter if I use screw-nuts, epoxy, CA, or the arc-wielder (oooh, how I wonted a couple of times this thing really meet an arc-wielder *evil* ;D), so I ended up already 9 times hardly resisting to toss it all out of the window.
But I'm holding still, and now, if only I manage to finish this ship an do it in time - no price would be required to make me feel really happy - that alone would be a great price ;D

Anyway, here is my progress so far. You might have noticed, folks, that I keep several bottles of antiperspirant sticks on my workbench. And might have though I might have some health-problems with that.. Actually thats not true - I'm just extremely thrifty ;D

So that's what you use empty deodorant containers for! Brilliant! Engine cans and wingy things. All in days work....thank the Gods for greeblies.

Good work Sol. It's nice to see a similar approach to things. :)
I have used all kinds of things in my builds; Razor handles, Pill bottles, Plastic Easter Eggs, pretty much what ever is within arm's reach. :)
And Youli is also a master of the greebling school. :)

Realy liking the look of this ship Sol.

A least you won't be 'sweating' to much before the contest deadline ;D

Great stuff my friend

Gag

First of all, thank you all for the encouragement, guys, your great comments have been really fueling me up.
Unfortunately, I've got a sad anouncement, that I'm going to have to abandon this project for a while, and won't be able to finish it before the end of the contest :( :(
It happened yesterday, when I've already complete the base and the headpart of the ship - everything was going to the superdetailing and preparing it for a primer coat.
Unfortunately, it's weight happened to be too big for the holders I had made for it on the base, and at some moment when I have been looking in my stash of spare parts for something cool to add to this model, it started to slide off with one of the holders crashed.
I've cought the model over the edge of the table already, holding onto the "hammer's nose". The nose part stayed in my hand. All the rest smashed into peaces by the floor.
So now, I'm actually at the point I began with.
The sadness factor is too high right now, so I'm going to put this project aside for a some unknown time.
It is not too high, however, because actually fro the very beginning this project was a pain in what I'm sitting on - like this type of builds, where everything is quite thought-through from the very beginning, but still nothing goes as planned, and instead of bringing fun working on it only makes you angry.
So, in some sense, maybe it is even good that the incident has happened now, while I didn't put too much time into this build.Anyway, guys, the sadness factor is far not so high to make me stop building completely for a while, so I already have some new projects in my head - it is still a month of BSC, who knows, maybe I even manage to put something together and instead any fails still present a second entry? ;)

Aah man that's rubbish  Well with your skills mate anythings possible in a month, chin up and all that ;)

That's a super bummer, Sol.
However, I know, from my Iron Clad build, some of the frustrations that you're talking about. However mine is a lot more of adding stuff to him, than building total scratch. I am sorry, about the accident, but I don't think you should give up on this concept/project. :)
When you are done with it IT WILL TOTALLY ROCK!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Really sorry mate. Looking forward to you getting back to her in the future. And I'm interested to see what's in store next. :)

Sorry bout that Sol
But I know the feeling after my basement flood
I look at my work benh and all the crap on it I wonder if I ever get back to building

I was just getting caught up. Too bad about the crash, but what others said is true.
With your skills, I am sure you could patch her back up and get it looking great again.

oh man! sorry to hear about the crash! it lasted long than the original endar spire, though...
but don't dispair! you have the skills and drive to turn any scrap to gold. here's to the future!

Thank you for the cheer ups, guys! I really appreciate them, and am very sorry to disappoint you, when you've already started enjoying the build.
I, however, will need some additional time to figure out some better engineering for this project - when the model falls apart completely into every single one piece used in it's building, it is a vivid sign something shoul be thought through better in the way of putting it together.
Thank you very much again, and be ready for some new stuff on my workbench ;)
