Wednesday I finally go back in for what I hope is the last of my reconstructive surgery. I was supposed to go 2 months ago but my blood pressure wasn't cooperating. New medications have gotten it down where it's safe to get this all done with.
It's be almost 2 years since the initial work and I'm feeling a lot better then before. I have put on some pounds, well lots of pounds, in the past year but once I get this done I should be able to get around better and be able to start losing it. I think all the waiting is part of the problem, I didn't want to get doing something involved and have to leave it for a while to recuperate so I just kind of potatofied myself while on hold.
For those who don't recall the area being worked on is in the man area, a lot of extra skin from a massive hernia has to be removed and the area rebuilt to the original specs (or close to).
In my future I see being able to wear regular pants or coveralls to help prevent chaffing or a kilt just because.
I won't be taking my computer since I am only scheduled to be a patent for 23 hours, and that only starts after the operation. I hope to be home sometime Thursday night so I'll update then.

You've got my prayers and good wishes, NNYGamer.
Hope you're back up to snuff soon

Good luck with the procedure :) My Wife's a Surgical Tech for a plastic surgeon and she does procedures like this every day ! I'm sure you'll be in good hands, as those types of surgical teams love their jobs :)

Kept me a little longer than I thought but I'm out and doing fine. I have 2 JP drains (grenades) for 2 weeks and 5 large incisions. Nothing was added but maybe it will just seem bigger now.
I got a nice percoset prescription in case it hurts too much.

Best wishes for your recovery and recuperation man, hope all goes back together for you.

Quick update:
Doing fine overall, very little pain and things seem to be healing well. Biggest problem is parts of the incisions are a bit tender due to their location an the fact it's been so darned hot lately. Kind of like when you sweat on a new scratch but in the unmentionables region.
I see the Dr. on Tuesday and hope these JP drains are removed. One is putting out almost nothing so that's definintly going to be removed but the other is still doing around 100cc a day. I still have 35 out of 40 percocets in case I do have pain, but I doubt I will. I'll have them handy in case I get hurt in the future. ;D

I got back from the doctors today and only have 1 drain left in. I hope that comes out on the 10th so I can be a little more active. But I did pop a suture either on the trip down (3 hour drive) or when I was getting on the exam table. It's taped shut and I just have to keep an eye on it. In the end I'll have some interesting scars to scare the ladies with.
6 hours on the road today wiped me out, sore in spots I don't want to be sore in. A percocet and nap are in order.

Thanks everyone.
On Monday I had a little setback, seems my open suture opened up a lot. I went to the local ER to have them check and got shipped down to the hospital where my surgeon is (he's on vacation this week).
3 hour ambulance ride, 8 hours in the ER in Syracuse and I get put in a room. I was up about 20 hours straight at that point. I got bandaged up and had a Foley put in till I could be sewn up. I spent most of Tuesday trying to sleep, it was about 23 hours after arriving I got the stitches, not sure how many but I was awake while they did it. Sharp pointy things stabbing at my scrotum while awake, real fun. Did lots of resting and painkillers and am taking it easy at home now. I have to keep the Foley in so the area stays dry and clean. I had overdone it last week and it led to all that so now I'm taking it very slow.

Sorry to hear about the setback, but glad to hear they've got you back on the right track

Saw the doctor today, got the Foley removed and the small drain taken out. I'm tube free! I go back in 3 weeks so he can take out the stitches, better safe with them in longer then remove them too soon.
To top it off when I got home from the hospital last week I hurt my foot, a very painful joint problem in the arch of the foot. I hobbled on crutches for the week and now and only using my cane. Thankfully I have lots of Percocts left and haven't been afraid to use them. I'm going extra slow but healing up finally.
