I am getting back into model building with 9 year old son after a 40 year hiatus. Looking forward to learning new skills and techniques. He is very interested in anything WWII. Starting out with the Tamiya Easy 8.

Welcome back to the hobby, and welcome to the Herd, to you and your son!
If I may offer a tip for your son for building at his age-let him do whatever he wants. Gradually he'll pick things up. Some dads want to interest their kids in they hobby, but innocently expect them to become IPMS first place modelers out of the gate. That tends to discourage the kids. Let him twist parts off the sprues, smear glue, and ignore FS color numbers, and just enjoy building.
