From the closing date of the contest, I've been undoing & redoing some parts of the ship that I rushed

Thanks very much to everyone who voted for me......very shocked, this is the greatest place with the best bunch of people, I've enjoyed the whole process....can't wait for the next one ;D

Anyhow.....what I've been up to:

I've removed the gear doors because I want to be able to attach & remove them, hopefully using magnets (like my other Falcons):

& almost finished the pannelling on the underside:

The far side wall is now finished:

as I said before.....have to get this done, so I can get back to the MPC Falcon

Thanks for looking

John

cheers for sharing peza

Liking the new work.
Makes it look less like a concept, and more like an actual ship

This is great! Is it a conversion of an existing kit or a full scratchbuild? Is there more info on the construction somewhere?

This is a great build. It's been fun watching this come together.

Sweet blast marks, too! ;D

Hey J

You should change your name to Mr Falcon ;D

Wow I just read through that entire thread! Outstanding work! Great to see you have the painting skills to do your fantastic modelling justice!
No joking, I really did think I'd messed it up on the first airbrush

Whoa! That's pretty fugg'n cool! I love it when someone takes one of Mr. McQuarries concepts and makes it look like a seamless part of the SW universe. Very nice work! ;D

Thanks Mr.Max, still looks rough to me!

I've made a closed door for the main gears:

Niceeeeee.....
Can you tell me how did you make the hull damage....looks great.

Thanks levo, nice Walker.....I just marked out the damage with a pencil then gouged out the scar lines with a scalpel...the blast holes/molten hull scars were just hand drilled with various sizes of drill bits

Let us know how you get on

J

J that looks so cool man, if we're ever at the same model show I'd love to see it in person! Actually will you be making the voyage to Euromilitare this year? I might be judging ;)

That thing is looking fantastic. I'm sure Ralph would have been proud to see his work turned into such an awesome model.
