Sorry you didn't finish it in time John. :'( I can guarantee two things: 1. The project will be completed. 2. It will be super wicked. Love all the detail and lighting you did with this. You will kick butt at your local hobby shop contest. Go get'em John!!!

Thanks I should, but the local judges don't seem to know a thing about well judging....

I totally concur!
You'll have to make a video with the ribbons you score from the LHS show!!!!
;D ;D ;D

Don't worry I will.

Thanks!

Ach! You gave it a great shot. Sorry to hear this Grendels. At least this way you can take your time and do what you want to with it.

And your local contest won't know what hit them methinks! :)

I intend to. I wanted to add a stream to it, but knew I just didn't have time. Now I do. I can also fix the two things I broke as I was working on it.

Sorry to hear you could not finish your build in time, I understand because I ran out of time myself for both of my entries. Your diorama is awesome. The work and skill your put into this project is astronomical. I am looking forward to seeing it all completed and lit. Thanks for making your videos and taking the time explain your lighting details. I learned much from your techniques.

Thanks, glad you can learn from it!

Here is the next update. They should be back pretty regular now. We listed the house for sale on Friday and we have two offers already. Soon everything will be done and I will be in my new hobby room.

Mercury 9 Part 12: More about the base

Another fine update John!! Been playing a little catchup on this now that the contest and other things are complete. I need to go back and review you thread on "light for dummies"...LOL, you know what I mean! thinking of trying something soon.

I hear you on the casinos...suck the land and the pockets dry. I am all for bringing commerce to any area, but the need to draw the line a bit. My point would be to build 30 stories down. Not like anyone looks out the window while you are gambling!! LOL!!

Take care!!

Nice work on the base Grendels. Lighting is really coming along. Good job Thunderpaws spotted that problem with the power supply.

Those hotels and multi-storey car parks are blot on the landscape aren't they? Very sad to see that. There must be some old towns that are protected as heritage sites, but unfortunately not all of them can be. Looked like some nice scenery there though.

TRM: Glad to hear you are thinking about taking the plunge into lighting.

Igard: Yes it is good that Thunderpaws found the problem. If I had used that power supply, all the lighting would have burned out.

And I agree they should build down not up!

John....
You are doing a bang up job.
I am still anxiously looking forward to seeing her all done up, and lit!!!!!
Haven't thought about mine in a long time.

Thanks! It will get done, despite selling the house, buying a house, and moving. I am also looking forward to getting back to the falcon!

So ! Grendels is getting a New Studio hey ?

Best of luck selling your home ! and hope the new house brings the next level in comfort, Space and all the trimmings and amenities your DEN should have...??? That's going to be nuts moving all those models...!!! hope none gets damaged ! and all the best to the New family !

talk to you soon John !

John - I'm really enjoying getting caught up on this one. Good stuff.

Good luck with the sale, move and settling in to the new place and routine.

Really coming together now, she's a very interesting model and looks a good challenge.

Like Mike, I can't wait to see this in all its glory, but your move and RL stuff comes first. Good luck mate! :)

Norm: We are moving a week from Friday. It won't be long now and I can get in some bench time and finish up this one. I too hope none of the models get damaged, but expect one or two get get a little bit dinged. The Godzilla dio was the first victim. Video on my channel sometime soon. It is getting torn down this weekend.

Thanks JMac, Igard and CTspeedshop!

Here is the next update:

Mercury 9: Part 14 the second stage

Love the build videos, John. Greatly anticipating the finish of your Mercury9 dio.
Keep up the great work. Bill

Nice update G. Thanks for the brief tour of the front lawn. I bet a part of you will miss this house. The flowers look great. I have a little Martha Stewart in me as well. LOL!!! Great deal on the Beamer. I had a 325e back in the early 90's. Loved that car!!! It had plenty of power and comfort.

Thanks Patrick.

Thanks CT. I will miss the yard of this house, but the new one has a pretty blank yard. In other words I get to start over from scratch and use the lessons I learned on this one. Have no fear, that yard will look even better than this one. I plan on taking some of the plants with me when we move and start fresh there.

The Mercury 9 is looking glorious with those lights on G!!!

Really nice trick with the masking fluid on those windows, that should look awesome when done.

Really nice tour of the garden. Those rose bushes are mighty!
