Making that old MPC Snow Speeder kit shine!

Thanks guys...... ;D

I am calling the open circuitry access panel
done! I had to re-do it once and not going
there again! Hopefully it shines with some
Tamiya primer I am picking up tomorrow.

To get started making the grid i used some
of that blank board you use to make a circuit
on. I did have to open the holes up.......i think
mine could have been a weee smaller? I taped
the board to some styrene using it as a guide
and re-drilled.

I just used a bunch of evergreen stuff for the two
girders and detailing.

This pic is of some strip styrene around the edges,
it's supposed to simulate the lip the panel would
rest on if it were in place.I think the filming mini
looks like this a bit.

And just to be safe some gaffer tape i got from the theater at work.....LOL

A nice update! Circuit board works great for that purpose. I will have to remember that.

Thanks for the kind words guys! ;D
Oh G I didn't use the circuit board
as the actual part i only used it's
holes as a template, underneath
it was a square piece of styrene.
I drilled through the board and
then through the styrene, that
made it easy to have them spaced
out correctly.

Ok finally some primer! If your on the
fence about buying the Fine molds kit,
VS. the old one and you can scribe panel
lines and you like the bigger size........LOL
This should make you fall on the side of the
fence for the old kit! LOL

P.S. Nothing is glued down yet still have more
detailing on the small and large boxes.

That scribing is super sharp! Perfect job, Michael! Just perfect!

You convinced me way back (I think on page 1!!!) to build one of these, but I still haven't ordered one yet. ;D

Looking awesome! Nice scribing and detailing.

I’d love to build one with the panel removed at some point, but I think I’ll stick with the finemolds version :)

Nice work on the details!!! Primer makes this snow speeder shine. Can't wait to see the paint and the weathering.

Indeed You are nailing this kit!
Great idea with the scheme-board and everything looks even greater with the primer on.
Thumbs up!

Can't wait to see how this ends up!

Those shots of it in primer, with everything being so crisp it looks like a CGI render. Flawless!

As usual guys much appreciated!!! ;D

I did some detail work on the inner air
brake housing, I was able to stuff about
8 small parts in there and 2 hydraulic lines.

I also came up with a quick spring
like thing that is missing on the
lower air brakes, it's to big but
it's getting it done! LOL

I love the busy panels your making. Is that an armor kit fire extingusher or is it a nuclear hydro-dynamic flux purifier with a left hand back flow coupling? ..... At second look, the later I believe. Keep up the great job! ;)

This is great work my friend, as others have said those scribed lines are just perfect. and the finish on your primer coat is real smoooooooth. What primer do you use J?

The little detail tubs also look fantastic. ;D

Keep up the good work. 8) very cool indead
