Making that old MPC Snow Speeder kit shine!

I can't get over how crisp those panel lines look. And great job on those dental details on the leading edge of the front underside too. The open wire panel...wow. So nicely done.

That's one fine piece of modeling Mike. Man, it's just fantastic. Can't wait to see it painted.

Once question about your scribing, and you've probably answered this somewhere else.

First you sand everything down. Do you take notes where the lines were/are?

Then you primer? Draw lines and scribe...

Just incredible. You should be proud of this model man.

Seriously guys the comments are very much
appreciated! ;D

Yea I sand every thing down I know some guys
scribe next to the line, i never felt using the existing
line was enough to keep a straight edge.
Plus if the panel lines are not in the right spots
and your going for a little more accuracy, makes
no sense to use them anyway.

If I feel the panel lines on the kit are good
in regards to accuracy......then I try to have
two kits on hand that's all. I don't build a lot
of kits this was the first in many years, hanging
around you guys is giving me the bug! ;D

No I don't primer if the color of the surface
is light enough to show a good pencil line.
If it was a black plastic I would maybe prime
it just so I could see the lines. But usually I
scribe and then prime.

Here is the key though even if your panel
lines are not plotted in the exact places,
they should be clean. Getting them on there
clean goes a lot further then having them
in the exact spots! ;D

Definately planning one myself and following your footsteps as best I can. However other things are getting in the way at the moment, so probably not until after my spring contest builds are finished. :)

Thanks Mike much appreciated.......my friend is sculpting a crew
for me. Going to have the pilot in the cockpit waiting, and the gunner
stepping up on the small box in the front, with his foot in the toe pocket.
