Hi I have these projects posted over at SSM, but I've noticed there's great work being done here also......so let me introduce myself, I'm 43, from Northern Ireland, been building models since I was a kid.....a good lot of them Star Wars kits

Heres a few photos I dug out:

1980:

2004:

http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/8162/dsc01593j.jpg

All above are now sadly no longer with me.....but....I've got 4 more in various stages of development:

1x Fine molds 1:72
2x Revell easykits
1x Revell minikit

The Fine Molds kit is almost built...not painted...a bit daunting:

Here's some of my 1/72 Fine Molds....I've extended the details of the visible parts in the open sections:

and reduced the parallel Mandibles a bit:

The extended details in place:

The docking rings with damage:

And damage next to dish (or where dish is going)

The 1st Revell kit has had its sidewalls trimmed down and I was recreating the details for the sidewalls when production stopped.....child number 2 came along and the spare room became her room.....models etc retired to loft:

The 2nd Revell kit I've posted on the Star Wars Forum as 'Millennium Falcon pre-modification', but I'm not sure now what I'd call it:

and the underside which I'm not totally happy with...especially the triangular nose section:

Just need to keep going with them & this group build has given me the inspiration to get back to them,

back in university I built an mpc falcon. I painted it with testors gloss paint and used the crappiest plastic brush. I spent about 5 hours on it. I think it's in the attic of my parents house.

I hope I never see it again

Thankyou guys.......I just bought another Falcon of ebay.....an MPC one.....that'll be five

J

Thanks, but I've got to say I've never had so much go in me to get these models worked on....I really need to be in the mood to build models, you guys have got me dying to get home and get stuck in, there is really loads of fantastic work here!

J

Yeah, the plastic is and was not the clearest…I might remove the windows, just have the frames…any thoughts?

J

I guess it depends on how much of the cockpit you want to see.
If you want to see inside the cockpit, I'd go for frames

The Cockpit glass & frames are moulded together and pre-painted.....cutting out the windows would be difficult....I think i'll scratch build it....gives me an excuse to be radical & create something different

J

Excuse me while I stand up from my chair and do a back flip followed by an air split.

THIS is some awesome work, J. I am shocked and stunned at what you've put together. Personally, whenever I try to scratch build something it always ends up looking like Mickey Rourke's face.

Nice job, J.

Thanks Guys!

Not a big change from last time.....just remade and lengthened the canopy
