I need to add texture to paint.

I work in 1:24th scale cars.

I need to find a way to add some texture to my paint. I need to paint a ragtop sunroof.

I googled this and people are putting all kids of crap in their paint. Baking soda, baby powder, flour, and who knows what else.

Does anyone have a less backwoods way to add texture to paint?

I might not even need texture. But I need a REALLY matte paint.

I have one of these I am painting white. I used Flat White, and even tried spraying from a distance. I can't the paint matte enough.

I can't see much from that pic ,
I would add the texture prior to spraying it .
Stipple it on , dry , slowly . Use the same paint .

Yeah , for Rhino Liner like that guy wants to create .

You could add embossing powder and stipple it on ,, or try and spray it .

Plain old white masking tape…

It's a folded piece like the example. Can't tape it all.

I didn't update the thread.

I put some micro balloons in the paint and it worked pretty good.

I'll post some pics once I have a finished product. I still have some more testing to do.

I used SIG micro balloons. You can buy them at hobby shops or places that sell supplies for building radio control airplanes. You mix them into epoxy to make a better and lighter filler.
