Ok, so the Spitfire........... died.

However, this only spurs me on to fix my mistake. I shall learn, and conquer ;D

I bring to you,

So, the point is the literally chuck it together. Get to a decal stage. And ask you lovely lot for guidance.

And, as a few have asked to see my ugly mug.............

Dave I usually seal decals in with a layer of Future first before laying down a dull/flat coat. This prevents the funny stuff decals do if they react to your clear coat. And don't toss the Spit. Get new decals, lift the ruined ones with tape and start anew. Your at the finish line mate.

Yeah what G said, I doubled up some masking taped and 'dabbed' constantly over the decals until they were all removed and bought some new ones and all was good

Yip ...I concur ,it seems a bit sensless to bin what was looking like a great build just because of decals ! you can pick up new ones very very cheap and usually get enough in one set to do a few aircraft .

The little FW looks good tho . Here's how I do all my decals ...first a few coats of Klear / Future ,apply decals then use Micro 'Sol ' to settle them down ( I never use the micro 'Set ' part ) once dried then seal them again with Klear /Future ....and you're good to go to weathering ...I finish my aircraft with Humbrol Acrylic Matt coat .

I agree with the others - don't toss that Spitfire. New decals, and she'll be done.

I like the FW 190 though.

So, a quick update.

I painted the triangles on the wings. the geometry of it captivates me. so unlike our good o'll blighty birds!

Unfortunately, it looked awful, so i fixed it.

Lets have another go.

and almost done (for a little think i was just going to "throw together")

Next up, some browny black streaks off the wings from the guns and the exhausts, and on with the DREADED DECALS OF DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!
