Finally, the Stuka

I have finally got my other builds completed so I can start the Stuka I was going to build after Xmas.

Sounds like another winner! Keep them updates a comin'.

Should be interesting as first time for PE. If anyone has any advice on tools for the job it would be appreciated.

Nowhere near an expert Pantherman, but to add what I can to what's been mentioned, I use an x-acto to cut it against a hard surface as close to the part as possible. I've used a thick glass, but lately, I have a block of stainless steel.

Not to side step Pantherman, Down Time, but PE, possibly, is "Photo-Etch". Tiny (usually) brass details like this one for a Moebius Battlestar Galactica.

Those "Metal Earth" models you've seen at Walmart and such are the same type thing, except they are produced with laser cut steel, so they're harder than normal Photo Etch.

Well I have started the Stuka build and also started the PE. The first thing I noticed is the need for a decent PE spru cutter, an array of various tweezers, not so fast setting CA and a decent vice or maybe justifying my need for new shinny kit !!

I decided to mark up the main instructions with highlighter on the bit's that require the PE. Don't want to miss anything.

I'm finding that PE is a marmite sort of thing, I'm really loving the intricacy of it but at the same time hating it. It's weird I know, probably something to do with the OCD cutting in !!

Anyway, a few photos of my first attempts.

So I bought a bit of kit to help with the PE. Wow, that makes a huge difference.

Made a little more progress, the PE takes ages but I am liking the challenge. It's finally starting to look like a Stuka at last.
