The pe railings on my USS IOWA rarely went on straight. Once securely glued in place you can tweak them with a toothpick or tweezers to align them. Be very gentle if you do so, I'm sure you have realized by now how brittle pe can be.
Carry on :)

Good progress! Maybe the trick is finding, and not minding, your own rhythm.
From the time I was a youngster keeping up with my dad's easy gait, folks have commented on how fast I walked; today, I notice others passing me on the trail even though I feel like I haven't slowed a bit! At first it bothered me, but now I know I'll get there at my own pace, regardless; and that makes for a much more pleasant walk!

AN whatching a hornet build on utube i see the chap that was doin the p/e he was tryin a different idea to how im doin an thats leaving the clear tape on the p/e as this would hold the p/e nice an straight but after he fitted it on i cant imagine how he got that sticky tape of the p/e as i would have thought it would bend the p/e

Hmm, never tried that... Do you think he uses a 'release' agent of some kind that wouldn't affect the CA?
YES that what i was thinking as that clear sticky tape takes some getting of the p/e as when i first handled this p/e i dint notice it was on but would have found out quick as i was goin to spray it grey si if he is useing some kind of releseing agent id love to know

Progress! Well done.
THANKS GCB but i wish i could get more done like i used to but this ship model is complex but haveing another go at it today so see what i can glue up today
thanks for your reply sir

HI GUYS
well todays work on the hornet started off great as soon as jenny came into the model room to see what i was up to an i said ive been hunting for that hornet book an ive looked all around my room an i could not find it so i sat there thinking i give up on that bloomin book as i needed
it to see how the hangar sides fitted an what doors to leave open so no joy but you have geussed it as she found it straight away looking where i did 4 time in a box near the window OH BOY talk about feel small when jen said you could not have looked all that hard OH BOY now i'll never hear the last of it lol BUT IM PLEASED SHE FOUND IT Just have to accept my humble pie lol
THE BOOK

SO now the book been found im putting it where i can find it for more info on the ship an its pleased me so much i even had a go at more p/e an thats a wow for me an ive actually started fittin on the hull the hangar sides after cuttin then down to get them to fit so some pics for you guys an the p/e is not great but the best i could manage as jenny held my wrist to stop the shakes in me arm an here a shot of one hangar side what was to big an i had to cut it to right lenght an lookin at it you can see its bent when it should be straight
IMG_1499.JPG

now you can see the detail but dont look to hard as i havnt fitted on the small p/e which is what i had trouble with urg an i notice now in the pic that the bloomin p/e is bent again will have to try an straighten it up later on
IMG_1492.JPG

AN THIS is not the show side so i fitted more doors closed as on the show side it will have more doors open so the planes can be seen an im goin to fit in the hangar bay some red battle lights as she was in hostile waters

AN SHE is so big i could not get her all in the camera
1/200 scale is a challenge to photo and to work on. Many times I have to correct, fix, or redo PE that got damaged in just handling the hull and positioning it to work on a certain area. One step forward, two steps back kind of thing at times.
Your making good progress, carry on. :)
