Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

Great base and excellent idea for the camo.

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

The camo is really easy to do. I have a spare figure I am not using so when I get some free time I'll shoot some video on how to do it. If you can apply salt to make paint chip effects, you can do camo the way I did it.

Not much tonight, applied a wash to the figures:

Now to finish their boots, paint a few minor details and give them their weapons and they will be done. Well, except the guy sitting in the hummer. Thanks for looking.

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

Yes, a video would be awesome man. Great work and technique.

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

Been out of town for some vacation time. I love the mountains my friends. Anyways the base came in:

Some kind of ceramic material. Been messing around with placement of everything so nothing else really to update on. Need to start that Chinook. Take care and thanks for looking

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

Thanks guys. Been messing around with figure placements, nothing is final yet:

It went together pretty easy, just pinned everything for some strength and used 5 minute epoxy. Shot some primer on it and ..... wow there is a lot of detail here:

Gonna try rusting these doors up a bit:

The seem will be filled, only some of it though

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

Hit a big SNAFU: my compressor died :-\ . But I have another one on the way. Got this far with paint before it died:

Thanks

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

Thirsty?

So here is the start of the base. I ordered some of that paint chipping stuff from MIG to try on the doors to the building. I think I will change the brick color, lots of washes and dry brushing done so far:

Also put a wash on the m1151. Decided to paint the hood green, seen some this way in the field so thought it would be different:

I need to finish the turret and attach the doors. Plus I need to rig up some kind of strap for the stowage on the back:

Other minor things to do also then the car will be done. Thanks for looking

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

Looks amazing... Love the camo really wish ACU pattern looked that good!

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

OK so I started applying some pigments. Here is the interior so far:

need to paint that Coke top red!

And here is the vehicle on the base with the repainted bricks, I like this a lot better. Also started pigmenting the vehicle itself and glued an antenna in place but I think I need to trim it:

Now with the turret attached:

Thanks for looking everyone. Working with pigment is a lot of fun.

Trying out some splatter techniques to simulate mud getting flung on the sides. Thanks for looking.

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

Looking great!! Lovely base and some nice weathering going on! Keep it coming! ;)

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

Thanks! I added the gun and more pigments, think I am done with those for the moment, only a few parts left to finish and the vehicle will be done.

I'm enjoying the pigments a lot. It is really easy to fix a boo boo. Thanks for looking!

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

Good work with the mud. I've always found it difficult to get it look natural and realistically random. Mine always seems forced and too consistent.

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

Filthy!!! ;D looking forward to seeing the finished pics.

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

Nice and the inside of the Humvee is just great.

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

Thanks guys I appreciate it :)

For the most part I have the vehicle done, added in the other figure and I need to finish up the base.

Thanks for looking. Getting close to done.

Re: Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee

So I am trying to get some rain streaks going on the building face. One I messed up and need to fix but it's going well. Also flat coated it to get rid of some shiny spots.
