Academy 1/35 M1151 Armored Humvee-Finished

What's up everybody,
Here is an entry for the BSC. I am stepping away from sci-fi to do something different. First off the proof photo:



I got some extra goodies for it, but I haven't decided if I want to do a diorama yet so for now just the vehicle

One of the add-ons I got was from DEF Models and it is supposed to depict a loaded suspension. Here is the rear with new control arms, hubs, and shocks:


Also some really nice wheels in this set:


I really need to get a better camera.

Here is another on with the chassis mostly assembled:



And, after thinking about it, I think I am going to do a diorama so I ordered some figures today. Stay tuned!!

Thanks guys. I wanted to try and replicate the liner, or whatever it is, that is on the inside of the roof so i cut up a piece of sandpaper. It's not completely accurate but it looks better than the sink marks It will hopefully look better when it has paint on it:



Also started putting the interior together. I have added a cable to one of the phones but I may pull it out and redo it. The plan is to try and have someone holding it so that's why it is just floating:



Also a look at most of the kit together, just a dry fit test:

from a good kit OOB to a wicked kit!!! those details parts from DEF models makes a lot of difference.

Was trying to texture the seats, came out ok.


then added a belt with some pouches to one of the front seats, I will do this to both front seats. The idea being the guy sitting behind has a place to store stuff. Colors are not final:



I think this is basically how the figures are going to be. The guy inside hits the ceiling so I have to fix that:




Still trying to figure out which stowage I am going to use. Stay tuned and thanks for looking

OK one last post tonight. I think this is how the stowage is gonna sit. The back will be shut so there won't be much to see.




Gonna probably put together some of those bottles together and toss a few in it and around it.

On the back I am going to try to make some kind of tie downs to go across the bags:

He looks too orange in my opinion:




I messed his cheek up but I like the tones on this one:



This guy actually looks african american. Not that that's bad but I think I'll just tweak this one, looks like he ate a hot dog with lots of mustard:

Man those are not bad. Sure a bit orangish but that's under like 20X magnification. Take a look at it from 3 feet away...i bet it's killer.

Thanks Scott. I re-did it with a lighter tone and found out its the wash I was using. I used a different one and it doesn't look orange. Also got an idea for the camo pattern. I'll post pics later.
