As if I didn't have enough crowding my bench, I also decided to finish my Tydirium Shuttle while also tackling my At-St and At-At....

I watched one of Model Man Tom's videos on the Shuttle and he was impressed by the quality of the ship being that it is well over 25 years old and all. From what I've read ( and learned from watching Model Man's Videos ) this was one of the better MPC kits. The flash is abundant and some parts have warped with age, but the kit is not bad. I'm even thinking of picking up another one to try my noob hands at lighting....

Any advise on color or the build is always greatly appreciated.....Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my bench

Nice. Solander, a member here, really dig a great job with this kit. Seek that build out...or contact him. I'm sure he'll get into this build.

Color....grey? lol.

I've seen his build Scott. He did a heck of a job on it. I actually am incorporating some of the add ons he did onto mine with the exception of the lighting of course.

The color is funky on this shuttle. The movie version looks to be a grey/cream beige color if that makes any sense. Then again...I am just getting back into the life so I don't build to be movie scale.....I figured the same light "Imperial Grey" that I paint the At At and At St should suffice.....

BTW....Thank you Scott...I watched a boatload of your videos while recovering from spinal surgery and was inspired by them ( as well as Quralane, Grendels and others, to pick the styrene up again.....Don't know why i ever left in the first place....LOL

Cool! Never get tired of seeing an IMP Shuttle build, looking forward to seeing your progress.

I'm currently working on the more recent Revell version , so I'm in the mood for some "Lambda Class" action ! The old MPC kit is far superior and as you say , one of the best Star Wars kits they produced . I've still got one ( in bits and pieces ) stored away somewhere . As for colour , as has already been said , a light ( dove) grey is your best bet , but it's how you weather it , makes all the difference . Imperial ships are generally well maintained , but a little weathering helps sell the scale of the model . The old kit has a few fit issues , the join of the top and bottom fuselage parts comes to mind , but with a little work , the MPC Shuttle builds into a lovely ( and big !) model . Good luck . ;)

If any of my tips help you, You're welcome to them.
Me, I'm just happy to see plastic being put together.

Which reminds me that I need to get back to my own drydocks......

Hello everyone. Here's another update from RedDragon's Model Werks...

After my Grandson went home for the day I decided to spend a few hours working on the inner cock pit...

After a tip from Scott Givens, I checked out some of the work being done by Builder101 and Solander and decided to attempt to dress up the inner cockpit a bit......

I decided to add a center console and a TV screen...

I also added a console for both pilots and some piping around the top. I still have some minor putty work to do to seal up the gaps but I think it came out okay.

Thanks for stopping by and as always, any hints, tips or anything you see that can be tweaked, please feel free to let me know.

G'Nite!

It looks pretty good for a Cell phone!

These"new" Smart Phones are awesome G! The downside....Can't sit it down to do an actual build Video and sometimes it acts up when trying to upload to YouTube. But other than that, works great until I can save a few pennies to buy a HD Camera.

Got some more work done on the Cockpit, Inner walls, the outside of the part that separates the cockpit from the shuttle and the guns....

First....The cockpit. I shot a coat of Tamiya Fine" grey primer to look for imperfections....I see a few that need sanding:

It's going to be fun painting this all up....

Here I added some bits and pieces (On the outer piece of the Shuttle ) to dress the top of the piece that separates the cockpit from the Shuttle itself...

I added a "Control panel" and some bits to be painted up like lights on the inner wall...Also, added some ribbed styrene to simulate a wall....

More work on the inner walls....

And now the guns that attach to the Shuttle itself....

They need a little sanding to smooth them down...

I have to admit, after seeing Builder101's guns on his shuttle...I'm feeling a bit inadequate in my attempt...Lmao.

Anyway....Thanks for watching and as always...."Happy Modeling brothers!

The guns and work you have done look great.. that is the beauty of modifying a model and adding your own scratch work or parts. You make it a little bit your own, nice job!

Many thanks....I am working on my scratch building. My goal is to build my own Falcon from scratch one of these days.

Started to do some painting on the cockpit and inner walls...
