This kit has always been one of my all time Favs. I first built one of these back in 1984. Just slapped it together. I've always wanted to do a few more only this time, I have a "few" skills I didn't have back when I was 22. Anyway, I am trying tofind another at a decent price but these Vultures want a mortgage payment for them now! LOL

Added a few more "details" to the bottom half of the Shuttle's cockpit.....

Used some .75 wire and a few Paper Clips and here are the finished results:

Like Builder101, I am in the process of "dressing" the wings up a bit. That channel in between the wing halves screams out for a lil sumin' sumin' in them.

I'll update as soon as I stop pulling my grey hair out from the stress of it all...Lmao.

Thanks for watching!

I used to jewerly wire to do the same thing. It is pretty soft and doesn't cost a whole lot. Also if you take two flat boards and roll the paper clip between them, you can straighten out the wire very well.

And that sir is why i love watching your channel. You are full of useful info! :)

I used to make Native American Jewelry back in the day so I have some left over from those silversmithing days long ago and totally forgot about it until you jogged the ole noggin. Pulled it out of the dust bin and will use it from now on..Thanks brother!

Oh....Thanks for the tip on straightening the paper clips....works like a charm!

The extra piping looks great.. Once that is all primed it will really give it some extra detail and stand out.

Thanks....I am finding inspiration in your build brother.

Small update...

After looking at the "original" cannon I scratch built and after looking at a few other builds online and here on SMA ( Builder101 ) I decided that I really needed to redo the guns I had rushed through the first time.

So, here they are..

I also added some "plumbing" work to the empty channel in the wings. Still need to do the top wing but after stressing on how to achieve the "look" I was after, I settled on this.....

I was trying so hard not to screw this build up that I was beginning to "dread" the build. After walking away from it for a bit and realizing that I needed to stop trying to make this "perfect," the fun came back and the joy of building was rekindled. I got lost in trying to build the "perfect" model and forgot why I loved the hobby in the first place.

Anyway...Thanks for looking at my "baby." Any advice/constructive and not so constructive...LOL...advice is always welcome... Have a good one brothers...
