Over the last 10 years or so the manufacturers have really stepped up and made 1/72 kits a lot better. Airfix has really knocked it out of the park lately with their new tool Spitfire and BF109 in 1/72. I have both and I'm really looking forward to building them.

Took a break from the Academy Huey build to work on this nice little kit. I'm really starting to like 1/72 scale and have gotten some more kits in that scale for the stash. Since my Nikon L810 can take up to 720p video I've did some videos for Youtube instead of taking the same old WIP pics...

For the old tool 109 it still comes out looking nice.

Try taking it apart and see if the parts are the same as the one Don Wheeler has on his web site. If something doesn't look right you could have a knock off. A tension spring that isn't stainless steel would be a good clue. I'm pretty sure the Krome uses a stainless steel spring like my Eclipse...

While I really enjoy my Iwata Eclipse HP-CS, I can see I'm also going to need a bottom siphon feed airbrush to. Since I plan on building larger scale models like 1/35, 1/32 and 1/24, I could use an airbrush that's more like a spray gun and put down primer or clear coats faster. The Badger Anthem...

I would go for the Staghound then, maybe less seams and construction time. More time for the fun stuff like painting and weathering. ;D Dirty that puppy up!

Outstanding work!

A friend of mine that builds models swears by Walthers SOLVASET for really stubborn thick decals. I have not used it but I have seen some of his work and it looks like it's does the job for him. I'm with ECH, kiwi gav and Chris I like the Micro Sol and Micro Set.
