I had accidentally bought two Uss AZ's so I exchanged the one and the only other model I hadn't bought at HL (military) was the MO so even though I'm working on a Meng kit (which doesn't count because it's a snap together kit:)) I picked this up. Turns out there was only one parts sprue so I thought wth why not build two USS MO?? Hull was a bit warped, I glued one end - basically the point, let it dry, then glued the point of the other end. Then I worked my way down one side with thin. When that was done worked the other side. It wasn't too bad doing it like that and no real gaps. Primed it tonight. Also painted the deck on the Meng kit.

Almost done. Just need to do the rigging which apparently is going to be a pia. I was wondering why I have all these holes in the decks with nothing to stick in them- apparently I'm supposed to run my rigging into the holes. This will be fun.

I've got her sitting on my shelf just to get it off my bench for now. I still have a few things to do: anchors, scratch build a five inch gun that's gone missing, and something which escapes my mind presently. I had to punt on the rigging. Not sure if you can see what I did do. So here's the issue I have with this kit. If you look at where the bow hole and stern hole are- any line running from these points to the mast would run right through the 11 in guns. The second issue I have is the amount of rigging this kit calls for is ridiculous at this scale. At least, I think it would look silly with the spider web of lines they provide holes for. So, I have holes in my deck with no purpose and I'm not going to fill and putty them as this was a practice run. I am going to try to scratch build a five inch gun just to see what I can do. Maybe I can work on that Monday. Hope everyone has a nice Father's Day.
