Just trying to help. I'm watching your ambitious build since the B-25 is a personal favorite, but never knew what the final deck configuration was on that date. Mostly curious to learn from some of the historians in the group, maybe the Baron knows?? Build on!

WELL Guys i did some exspiementing today solderin the wires to the copperfoil tape an it worked great as the plastic deck is an 8th thick so as long as i dint hold the irion on to many secs the flight deck was ok an first pic of a 4.5 batt box just soldered on to the copperfoil tape an im hopein to power about 20 lights each side of the runway so if it will power them all i'll be pleased so wil see on that as they wont be this bright as the one ive soledered on to test the circut but that will be seen in the 3rd pic
IMG_1157.JPG

AN circuts are about 4 ft long but as with all eletrics it will meet a certain amount of resistant so the end lights may be dimmer
IMG_1156.JPG

an i dont really want them to bright in hostile waters but so ive fitted in a tiny switch on the stern deck so i can switch off the runway lights this one goin shows it all possible what i want to do on this model an this light is at the bow end so a good circut

but this light will be desoldered again to be taken off an fittied into deck how i want it to be

HI GUYS well it looks like the hornet build will be on hold for a little while as im havin probs with these tiny 1mm leds as they are 3v an i thought i could get away without havin to fit resistors on them but ran just the 3v led on the full lenght of the flight deck an im gettin resistand to
the eletricity so on 3 v it was fairly dim so im goin to have to have a play at tryin to wire up 30 of these little buggers an see if they work best in parrle or wired in series blast i was hopein to fit them all in the flight deck today so thats gone for a burton an due to ive sealed in the 3v power unit i will have to i think cut out the deck to get to the 3v power unit an remove it an fit in a more powerfull unit but i will try the above first before i take this drastic step
frustated chrisb

Enjoy! You are doing great!!
HI GCB well ive been testin about 6 leds wired into the full lenght flightdeck all day an unbeknown to to me there was a bad connection in the copperfoil tape so after a test whith my multi meter i found out where the bad jion was an resolederd it an now the 6 leds are goin great so if 3v will power all 6 leds an they are quite bright so i think i will tomorrow wire up all the 30 leds 15 each side of the flightdeck an then see how they go an thanks sir for havin a look see on the build cheers
chrisb

Glad you got it worked out.
HI Kevin yes things seem to be workin out so far on these lights got 6 workin leds so far but i need 30 so 15 lights down each side of the runway so see what happens tomorrow as ive got to spray the flight deck before i fit the lights an hows that big battle wagon of yours comin on ?
ATB SIR
CHRISB

AN here a pic of 6 leds goin from 3v so i hope 3v will be powerful enough to run all 30 leds in the flightdeck
IMG_1160.JPG

OH im glad to hear that Kevin so all is as it should be with the build very well done sir i only hope my fltghtdeck lights idea turn out ok as i dont really want to have to cut a hole in the back hanger deck
chrisb

HI GUYS well the hornet build is still WIP AN IM ENJOYIN THE BUILD so first pic i thought id try an spray paint the flight deck in dark ocean grey an as i had several spray cans to try an save the dosh but well it dint look right an a pic
IMG_1161.JPG

SO i sent off ebay for some dark ocean blue an yes it seems just right so i have laid out a very long ruler about 4ft long an used that to get a nice straight line for the flight deck markin laid out usein tamyia maskin tape an im pleased with the results
IMG_1163.JPG

an next to use white paint them in an yes great stuff will show the markins pic later on

an last pic for today i have been lookin through my hornet book an it shows another white painted line on the flightdeck so that the B25 which are a bigger wingspan than the aircraft so the wing tip misses the bridge S/S so its well over to port side on the flight deck an in the pic ive just laid the full B25 wingspan to show how much the take off line was over the normal runway

HI GUYS wel i think its time for some pics on whats happening on the hornet an ive succsefelly fitted 30 1mm leds down the flight deckan im pleased at how easy it was but took quite a bit of work an time but got it done so some pics of the flightdeck lit up an now thats done i can proceed on with the rest of the build
chrisb
IMG_1166.JPG

AN Here in this pic it looks as though there are no lights on the front starboard side but they are there an goin its just that i dintpush them through the flight deck far enough an this is the stern end
IMG_1171.JPG

Amazing job! Looking forward to see the full build illuminated
HI GCB yes she should look good lit up but ive got to fit another mini switch in the bridge super struckture so i can turn off the bridge light but im a bit dissiapointed with the bridge windows as i was hopein them to be sqaure but no they are just port holes so will have to drill them out an then see if its worth lighting up the bridge as i dont think the lights in the bridge will be seen very well so may be a waste of time but anyway GCB thanks for your reply much apprecaited as the guys are not sayin much on the build
ATB SIR
chrisb

AN the build has been goin so well i got a bit ahead of myself as i sprayed all the flightdeck underside matt white an now realised that ive forgotten to fit on the hangerbay lights so i will now have to fit them in an scrape off some small parts of the coppertfoil tape paint so i can solder in the 12v leds that power the 12v side as i want to fit in 12v leds so they will be bright enough to light up the big hanger bays as i want to fit the normal planes in there but cant till i build on the hanger bay side walls so quite a bit of work to do yet an im starting on them today
CHEERS ALL
