...as a kid it captured my imagination too, only we would crawl across a windswept winter landscape of blowing snow and frozen dunes, imagining we were on some RECCE mission to reconnoitre the enemy postions!North Africa
Haha, who knows, if I ever get through my stash, I will have dozens of vehicles and combatants of British (+ Kiwis, Aussies, Poles, Nepalese Gurkhas, Indians, Greeks and South Africans), Italian, American, German, French (Vichy and Free), Moroccan Goums, Eritrean, Senegalese and Tabor. Probably forgetting a few!screaming
We sometimes stormed the beachCrossing the fields and woods out the back of our village like they were in Northern France.
I haven't been able to find Mr. Hobby gray primer in a bottle at any of the online hobby shops, and I just got an email from Squadron (in response to being on their waiting list/in-stock notification) that they are discontinuing selling it. Is it just me or did I miss something?Couldn't get the Mr Hobby, so trying out the AK metal primer. Seems to cover well. At least these little strips.

Layering thin paint (with good amount of glazing medium for smoothness and blending). Then a bit of pin and shadow washes to start giving depth and bring out detail.
Ammo cases and stand with spare not glued, or the seats.

Still a long way to go, but progress.![]()
Got me curious.... I know there was a ban in Canada on some Tamiya rattlecans...I haven't been able to find Mr. Hobby gray primer
What's Happening:
- Canada Restrictions: In mid-2025, Canadian retailers faced seizures and bans of Mr. Hobby (GSI Creos) spray paints and other products due to strict chemical rules, creating supply chain chaos.
- US Impact: This Canadian situation made some US shops nervous or unable to restock, causing temporary shortages or price increases for US customers, leading to rumors of a broader ban.
- Official US Status: There's no news of a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or similar ban on Mr. Hobby paints in the United States itself.
