What's the deal with " Gather" ?

can see the detail an why is there orange planes on her are they trainers ? an what is the scale of the ship an i just wondered why you havnt painted the hull an water line ? as i love carriers an i went to portmouths to see the real JFK an she was big but not as big as the nimitz class of carrier so i was told
