I plan on sticking with Tamiya, for whatever reason it's about the only paint line I successfully got to spray from my airbrush.
Do you any issues mixing colors together?

The only time I ever have issues is when I use another brand of paint. I just like Tamia. I have a lot of their LP paints and the X and XF line. I only mix it in my airbrush or if I absolutely have to paint with a brush with Mr color leveling thinner. I never have any problems. It could be the airbrush. I have a patriot 105 with a 5 needle and it's real hard to clog it up. I love it. If I need to spray tiny detail lines? I just don't clean it super good for about 4 or 5 times and the nozzle gets a couple coats of paint dried up and I can get tiny lines. Then I clean it real good and it'll empty a half a paint cup pretty quick

I know I said in the beginning of this build that the plastic was soft and blah blah piece of **** kit and I got a little bit of a kickback on that. But that's all right. This one would be no fun if we didn't talk a little bit and argue a little bit but just a little bit of the arguing please. Anyways. I'm done with it. I honestly think this is the best model that I've ever built. I know there may be a fingerprint and a dog hair and some dust and some of the parts didn't fit right and I didn't do any weathering but this is how I remembered the Corsair when I was a kid. Of course I took liberties especially with the decal on the tail. But all in all? Even though I bad mouth Trumpeter a little bit? After building this and enjoying the end product? I will try another 132nd kit by them

If someone saw this 1:1 scale, at an air show, they wouldn't give it a second thought. There was a time when the Navy kept their birds as clean and shiny as possible—to help prevent corrosion, and for a little improvement in speed. These days, those are less of a concern because the speed difference is negligible, we have better, corrosion resistant paints, and stealth characteristics, whether visible or electronic, are far more important.

Delightful series. I am somewhat dismayed by the problems with Trumpeter quality, as I have several in the stash. I hope I do as well with them as you did with this.

Thank you for that. Yes the quality at first kind of got me down and a little perturbed because why would you have one landing gear Bay perfect and the other landing gear Bay has 13 sink marks.? Doesn't make sense. I think someone said other kits aren't like that, you got a bum one. So I am going to try another 132nd Trumpeter kit just to compare them and have some fun.

Great job Rob! Even more satisfying (I think) when you do such nice work on a substandard kit. I did not have much trouble with the Trumpeter 1/350th battleship, but of course that is no comparison to a 1/32nd fighter. I am working on a 1/48 F-100 from them and have been mostly pleased so far.

I think this is true for most manufacturers...look on scalemates to see when the molds were created. If before Y2k (give or take) beware, but for the most part the newer stuff is quite nice. Even Tamiya has this, look back on those 1970s kits and you'd swear they were from a different company.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. That was a nice clean glossy build and you know I didn't like the plastic and the quality control was crap but some of you have told me I got a bad kit so I went to Andy's this morning and spent a couple hours browsing around and decided to go with another Trumpeter kit. Also in 132nd scale. Cuz they do have a lot of 132nd planes at a good price so I got the Stuka and right off the bat I am impressed with the quality of the plastic. It's a different color and it just feels good if you know what I mean. Not a bit of Flash and every sprue looks perfect. Lots of parts and I like that. I'm telling you. The difference between the two kits is night and day. I'll post couple pictures of the build as I go on a new post

I'm jealous, I'm on the east coast. From what I've seen on u tube I could spend many hours there as well. It is my go to online store.
I probably spend more time online at Andy's than I do shopping there. I go to his small store off Greenway but he just moved into his new store and I haven't been there yet. Maybe I'll go there on a Saturday and make a day of it cuz there's also a excellent barbecue place 2 mi down the road I think

Good work on that Trumpy Corsair, might I recommend the Tamiya 1/32 Corsair… that is probably one of the best aircraft kits produced by any brand in any scale (rivalled only by their 1/32 Mosquito).

Good luck with this Trumpy Stuka
