Trumpeter 1/32 F-4U-4 Corsair

Great job Rob! Even more satisfying (I think) when you do such nice work on a substandard kit. I did not have much trouble with the Trumpeter 1/350th battleship, but of course that is no comparison to a 1/32nd fighter. I am working on a 1/48 F-100 from them and have been mostly pleased so far.

I think this is true for most manufacturers...look on scalemates to see when the molds were created. If before Y2k (give or take) beware, but for the most part the newer stuff is quite nice. Even Tamiya has this, look back on those 1970s kits and you'd swear they were from a different company.

Beautiful model. I like your "how I remember it" bit.
That's what takes it to the next level.

Cheers. Make that three.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. That was a nice clean glossy build and you know I didn't like the plastic and the quality control was crap but some of you have told me I got a bad kit so I went to Andy's this morning and spent a couple hours browsing around and decided to go with another Trumpeter kit. Also in 132nd scale. Cuz they do have a lot of 132nd planes at a good price so I got the Stuka and right off the bat I am impressed with the quality of the plastic. It's a different color and it just feels good if you know what I mean. Not a bit of Flash and every sprue looks perfect. Lots of parts and I like that. I'm telling you. The difference between the two kits is night and day. I'll post couple pictures of the build as I go on a new post

I'm jealous, I'm on the east coast. From what I've seen on u tube I could spend many hours there as well. It is my go to online store.

I probably spend more time online at Andy's than I do shopping there. I go to his small store off Greenway but he just moved into his new store and I haven't been there yet. Maybe I'll go there on a Saturday and make a day of it cuz there's also a excellent barbecue place 2 mi down the road I think

What's the URL for this wonderful place? Not that I need more kits …

Good work on that Trumpy Corsair, might I recommend the Tamiya 1/32 Corsair… that is probably one of the best aircraft kits produced by any brand in any scale (rivalled only by their 1/32 Mosquito).

Good luck with this Trumpy Stuka
