He looks good, Grendels.

Poor bear....

Carebears get what they deserve, I would worry too much about that bear.......

Work is going to be rough for the next 9 days. I have a few updates in the "can" so I will keep posting here. But no progress will be made. As you can see from the photo, I am near done with Godzilla, a tiny bit of detailing and he will see primer.

King Gidrah is at the point where I need to address the seams. Still haven't quite got the bugs worked out on that one, you will see that in future videos.

lol@thecarebear ;D

This is moving right along. Good things to have, those updates in the can. 8)

He's looking good Grendels .....Man that must be one big Care Bear ....((lol))

Chris.

Thanks everyone!!

Here is the next update. This segments show the work I have done on his seams:

Godzilla: The seams are done!

And a video clip out of history. Very grainy, but it is about the Godzilla suit and King Gidrah It show some of the models being made, as well as publicity shots of the Godzilla suit out in public. It also show some clips of people working on Rodan and King Gidrah. It is hard to watch at times because the film clips are so old.

The making of "Ghidorah, the three..."

Hey Grendels. I think you can safely wait till the Aves cure then pull it out. I didn’t try with different putties and there was no problem with taking it out so there shouldn't be a problem with Aves.
Also glad that you solved the problem with King Gidorah's necks.
Waiting for next update.
Cheers

G'Day Grendals,

At the scale this thing is going to be at, would there be any defined foot prints ?

I would say the tail swish from both Godzilla and King Gidrah would be noticeable - especially the damaged trees etc, but the foot prints would be outlines - unless there was rain around that soften the soil

Hi, Grendels!

Just another word about the work You've done over all the seams, as I can't help admiring it again after all the time and effort You gave into this: just FANTASTIC. The body texture looks to be absolutely untouched by any seams, although the area is covered with silver and its topography is highlightened.
Secretly dreaming of seeing You turn to the castle and surroundings after thees giants;)

Hey Grendels looking awesome once again great work on the seams, oh and thanks for the making of king ghidorah awesome. anyways keep up the great work . :)

Big G, is really getting along great!!! nice work on the seams, Grendel!

Looking Great!!! Excellent Work!!! Can't Wait To See This Finished!!!

Quite the project!

Love the seam job! That silver paint technique sure helps spotting
The trouble areas!

Do you know why the seams were so troublesome? I.e. Cracking and braking away? Bad plastic?
Or joint contamination ? It was weird to see it pop in your hands like that!

Anyway! Looking forward to your painting! Always loved watching those movies!

Model builders extravaganza !

Take care and keep up the good work!

Biskup: I have been working with Aves on King Gidrah, and it will come off after it has cured. I am taking a spare neck and trying seam filling on that before I start work on the model. That way I get a feel for it without messing up part of the piece. You really have to work it to get it off at times, but it will come off.

Cobra: There probably would be foot prints. Just how heavy are these guys? According to Wikipedia anywhere from 20,000 to 60,000 tons. It all depends upon which movie version you are using. But any way you look at it, that is an awful lot of weight.

I took a soil structure class years ago, and I do know that soil will compress when it is faced with a very large load. This is in part why it takes so long to build road beds. They have to make sure that the underlying soil does not compress with traffic on the road. ( A history note: Modern road design is still using the method perfected by the Romans when they build their roads.) One other thing, the reason why they dig out such large pits when building tall structures is to offset this compression. The depth of the hole is to balance the weight of the building. In other words, if a building weighs 20 tons, then they dig out 20 tons of dirt. That means there will be no soil compression when they build the building.

Solander: I will get to it as soon as work allows, the next two days will be bad, 13 hours each day.

Quaralne, Panzerman, Eastrock and CTspeedshop: Thank you!!

Norm: I have no idea why that tail just came off. It wasn't from rough handling, nor brittle plastic. It broke right on the seam, just as if I used CA glue instead of plastic cement. I sanded down the seam to remove glue residue and then washed it. After that use the trusty old Tamiya regular cement. It is what I turn to when I have something I want glued together and I don't want it coming apart. It has never failed me on this. I expect it to hold up just fine now. If it comes apart again, I will pack it up with some epoxy, drill a few holes for pins, and then pin it and glue together. But I don't expect that to happen.
