The adversaries face off....

Just finished watching the videos. Its amazing how much I pick up from your efforts in the attention to detail category.

Really looking forward to seeing you painting the people. The new camera lens will let us see their eyeballs. ;)

Thanks Haggistom, next update this weekend. I got a good start on the seams today for Godzilla and started experimenting for filling King Gidrah's seams. Video soon.

One thing that might disappoint: Those are pre painted figures..... And at this scale, no way you would see their eyes. Just too small.

Cool!!
The definite plus of this project, Grendels, (among all the other pluses) is that when You get tired with working on one of the monsters You can change Your attention to another, or even to the ground work. That really helps, I think, as, often, I fing myself left by my modeling muse before the end of the project :-[

Yeah i am looking forward to seeing this one,it will be cool!
Are you gonna put yellow lightening coming from his mouth. ;)

The body of King Gidrah reminds me of one of those comedy rubber chickens for some reason :-\ ???
I know,i'm weird.

Man! You have a lots of courage, tackling such a kit!

Nice jog on glueing your Body..... Not fun when there is no alignment pins...

Looking forward to your next update!

I agree, when I get tired of one part, I just switch over to another part. Makes building kind of fun. The tedious parts can be spread out.

LOL, not weird, one of my YouTube viewers left pretty much the same comment.

As for lighting, if I can figure out how, I might do it. But I wouldn't count on it. I don't want anything looking cheesy. Now some nice scorch marks are not beyond question!

SLW45: Thanks! I got a lot done with it tonight, and had one hell of a break through. I have not worked that much with Aves before this build, and I am learning good techniques for working with it. The seams on Godzilla are no longer an issue. (That was my breakthrough!) It will make the next video for sure.

Schweinhund227: Thank you! I don't think it is courage that is driving this but insanity, but that is another story......

It wasn't fun with no alignment pins but I got it together with the use of a good clamp.

I have gotten a couple of comments about the color of the model. For those of you that are not familiar with King Gidrah, I decided to post this photo I found:

Thanks Patrick! I am pretty confident that I can handle this one!

Like I said over on Youtube,
Excellent work on those seams. I'm figuring that, once they get hit with paint, they'll pretty much disappear.

Great stuff, yep nice job on the seams.

Is that gamera i see there too.

If you have problem with Aves sticking to your tools try dipping them in baby oil. It works with Magic Sculpt so it should work with Aves.
Cheers
Lukasz

P.S. Monsters are looking really cool. I'm waiting to see more.

You can also use KY Jelly or any water based lubricant.
Unlike baby oil or petroleum jelly , KY will rinse off with water. Oil based lubes needs to be scrubed with soap and water to remove the residue.
Hope this helps

For that matter, the tools can simply be lubed with water.
That's all I've used on the Twins so far, and had no problems

Didn't knew about that will need to try it one day.
Thanks for the info,
Cheers

Thank you for the comments!!

Quaralane: I hit some of the seams with silver paint tonight to see how they are doing. Most of them are gone. There are a few that still need work, but not much. This makes me happy!!! With a bit more work, I should be ready to put the arms and legs on The Big G this weekend and start working on those seams. This one is moving along very well.

Java: Yes that was Gamera in the back ground. Just got a model kit for him, and it is a beauty!!!! Much better than these kits. I will have to build that one up soon.

Biskup: Water works fine on the tools. The problem I am having is that the aves won't stick to the plastic until it is near cured. Once cured it sticks just fine. Because of this, I can't carve details into the Aves once applied. So I let it cure, then carve the details into the aves, that is working very well. The Oyumaru came in today, so I get to play with it tomorrow. No time left for model work today!

For King Gidrah, I don't have to carve it will be pressing in the details, so I am not worried about that. The only thing that worries me with Gidrah at the moment is that in some of the movies he has hair around his head. Like the mane on a lion. I have to give this some thought.......
