I think i saw one of those Japanese masters add a spot of green to clear laquer then inject it.
Can't remember for sure, may be you could try some ink because you don't want to fill the tube you just want to colour the insides so a couple of 'flush throughs' might do the trick.

Still looks awesome mate.
