Strange metal paint behavior

This is the end result. Applied vallejo metallics clearcoat before decals, then finished with AK glossy. I decided to not weather it because by this point was worrying about ruining finish (again). Still figuring out photographing the models and where I can display them (my wife may prefer I store them)
