No truly awesome Space Robot Band would be complete without a really cool space ship. Made from tuperware, soda bottles, laser cut parts, old tubes and electrical components. I've got the basic assembly done, and painted in a flat base coat. I'm deciding how rusty it needs to become. All of the LEDs are wired up and work. There's a brightness control on the headlights and there are timers for turn signals. I added a license plate light too. I'm experimenting with adding more lights to the outboard warp drives. Oh yeah, almost forgot, the flux capacitor is turbocharged. I had to make a jig to make the louvers.

I made a video using my models. This video tells a story about the search for an elusive three dimensional toroidal attractor chaotic low frequency oscillator! (Sapphire Lark) The forming of the Space Robot Band, and almost running out of gas!

I have not been real productive lately. I did do some work to Andy Amplifier. I'm adding LED eyes and some embellishments. Although he's primarily a keyboard player, he's showing off his new guitar. I'm rebuilding the arms so they move better, there was a lot of paint in the joints. I have a nice work bench, but it's cold in there, so I made a makeshift work bench in the garage.

Travelling in that van, they should call themselves the 'Combi Combo', or perhaps, 'The Westphellas'!

A human-less group. What is the robots intent? With music similar to Patrick O'Hearn and Rammstein on drugs. A Westphalia combo. Or Front 242 on acid... Somehow it reminded me of this...

Yes, echoes of art films with a 40 lb Sony Portapack on my back in the 70s. And a belt load of spare batteries around my waist!

thank you! I created the music on all the videos using VCV Rack. It's a virtual Eurorack synthesizer program. I kind of like the fact that it's a program creating the music, I.e. robots... Well I have fun anyway.

thank you! The robots intent is to play Space Rock music. They seek out otherworldly sources of tonal expression, and explore strange new sounds. Or something like that. Thanks for the interesting video link, and for the comments, which I will search for examples later.

Happy New Year. Andy Amplifier got new hands, forearms, an on board 12v battery, hydraulic lines to the tracks, LED eyes, and a new KeyTar, so he can jam with the guitars in some upcoming choreographed sequences. . I'm also working on adding an LED based mouth. The audio is from my youtube video Ghost in the Machine.

Here are a few images of the prototype LED mouth I made to test the idea. Later versions will allow some animation of the dots. The next version will be more compact, but the same screen size. Still a few more things to do, but it's almost done! Tell me your thoughts on the LED mouth.
I think Andy likes it. haha! Space Robot Band rules...

I am preparing to do some mechanical animation for some movements, but not sure how far I will take it. It has to be fun in the end. I'm moving slow lately, but I keep moving.

Well I assumed you meant to send midi from the synth to a servo controller to make physical movements that are in sync with the music. But I can also control the servos in real time to do stop motion or slow motion effects. My videos are a combination of stop motion, green screen, and real time video assembled in an easy to use, but somewhat limited video editor called Movavi. Anyway I'm having a great time, even though physically I'm in recovery and am moving slow.
I was waiting for some LED's to arrive. I should have more to share on the LED mouth soon. Thanks for the interest.

I worked on finishing the Keytars. I use my laser to make the parts, and the decals. I'm still working on the LED mouth.
... So awesome! I wanna play them!
Next thing you know, someone will produce these in 1:1 scale and start playing them!
